Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort

"The sea view is very nice. The hotel breakfast is also very tasty and their alacarte menu for dinner etc is also very tasty. The reception staff and housekeeping staff are very nice and very very helpful. They really try their best. I loved the hotel, only problem is that there was no alcohol available but otherwise its a very nice hotel. However, please note its not possible to enter the beach as its made of stones and water is very shallow."

"An excellent place to stay. Clean and comfortable with three swimming pools and a game room that had ping pong and foosball. Unfortunately, there can be some noise from a nearby hotel with live music, but it doesn't seem to last very late. The timbo hotel itself was quiet. The buffet breakfast was excellent with many choices for vegetarian and vegan guests including soy milk."

"The location was ideal for wandering through Stone Town. The staff were friendly. The view from open patio dining area on the roof top was amazing. You must take advantage of wandering the many alley ways and shops. Lots to see in the area."

Mizingani Seafront Hotel

"The Mizangani Seafront Hotel was an amazing, atmospheric bit of old Zanzibar looking out on the Stone Town harbor, and across from the Dar es Salaam ferry landing. They served a wonderful breakfast on the veranda. The reception and breakfast staff were very helpful and gave us a warm welcome. Our room was spacious and filled with beautiful Zanzibari details."

"The room was clean, and housekeeping came by every day to clean and replace the towels. For the first two mornings, there was no hot water early in the morning. After I reported it, they sent a housekeeping staff member to verify the issue before alerting maintenance. By the following morning, it had been fixed, and I finally got to enjoy a blissfully hot shower. My room was next to one of Stone Town’s many alleyways, so there was almost always activity and noise late into the night. As a light sleeper, I found this quite challenging. The rooftop restaurant has some of the best views in Stone Town. Just be prepared to share the space with lots of birds—they can be quite persistent while you’re trying to eat! Overall, I think Seyyida is a decent place to stay in Stone Town. That said, there are other hotels that don’t have these issues. The second hotel I stayed at (not Seyyida) was almost perfect, so you definitely have options. Even so, Seyyida isn’t a bad choice at all."
