Get away from the tourists

Good classic hotel at a quiet location. Great garden and pool, we only went to the beach morning and evening. The food was amazing, we had half board and didn’t regret it.

Nestled away at the top of the island - this classic hotel has everything you could want. A number of restaurants spa pools tennis and access to beach. Gardens are a real plus - great to wander thru and down to pool spa or beach. Service was really good - in all departments - Rooms spacious nice views of bay - Classic hotel style to match

Great location but a little remote if you prefer to a greater choice of better value restaurants etc. Food and drink on site is very expensive compared to the best available in the nearest town, Porto Pollena. Taxi fare to and from the town is 22 Euro (July 2019).

Die Hotelanlage ist ein Traum! Der Garten,der Blick ! Wunderbar! Leider war unser Zimmer war super alt und sehr,sehr klein ! Auch wenn wir die unterste Kategorie gebucht haben, habe ich für 550 Euro die Nacht mehr erwartet . Das Personal war ,ob beim Frühstück oder an der Rezeption sehr desinteressiert ,unfreundlich und unpersönlich. Mindestens 3 mal hat unsere Zimmerkarte nicht funktioniert, sodass wir immer wieder an die Rezeption mussten zum neu kodieren. Das Gleiche war zweimal um vom Strand in den Hotelbereich zurückzukommen, wir mussten immer andere Gäste bitten, uns zu öffnen. Wir waren kurz vorher in einem anderen 5 Sterne Hotel und hatten so den direkten Vergleich . Wir werden in das Hotel Formentor nicht nochmal reisen.

The views are amazing, and there is a lovely relaxed feel to the hotel. It is smart but not pretentious. It's not cheap; a pizza or a salad for lunch costs around 18 euros, and you have to pay for loungers and shade on the beach (60 euros for a day under a cabana with a double, comfy, padded wicker bed). Watersports are also extra. We opted for the half board option, and thought that the food and selection at breakfast and dinner was excellent.

Lovely setting in beautiful gardens with views over the Med. Room was good but ac unit was directly over the headboard discharging on our heads which made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was very good. Evening buffet was expensive and the a la cartel menu had a very limited choice.

La atencion del personal es muy buena. El entorno es precioso con sus jardines , playa y su Piscina a 27 grados El buffet de los desayunos propone buenas variedades de productos. Los puntos a mejorar en mi opinion : Por la noche , el precio de 50 euros por persona y de 25 para niño me parecio un pelin caro por lo que tuvimos en el buffet... no sirven comidas de 16 hasta 18. El mobiliario de las habitaciones y del hotel estan ya obseletos...una reforma seria ya bienvenida para poder atraer y fidelizar a los clientes residentes. 5 ⭐ para el entorno y la atencion 3⭐ por las habitaciones 4⭐ buffet

it's a real paradise. The gardens, the sea, the interior was just perfect, it's a pleasure to just be there, forget swimming or sunbathing or relaxing. The only negative I'd say is dinner buffet, which is not worth 55 euro per person, I expected after having a great breakfast.

There is nothing at all to complain about. The staff were all extremely helpful, pleasant and polite. We were a little worried after reading some of the reviews concerning the rooms. No need to worry. Ours was wonderful. Big comfortable and very clean. We stayed half board and the food was excellent. We were there for seven nights and the choice was varied every day. Very very pleased. Will definitely be going again.

Disappointing.

So sad to see that the legendary Formentor Hotel has turned into a mediocre package holiday hotel for Brits. The interiors are old fashioned, the staff distant rather than welcoming. It was very disappointing that so few rooms have balconies and what a shame that the new hotel owners do not make the most of the spectacular setting by investing in a beautiful spot for morning coffee, lunch, drinks or dinner close to the waterfront. A massive wasted opportunity especially as the other locations to eat and drink are fine but not special.

Truly a Royal Hideaway

Magical, from the drive down to Formentor to the last glance back on departure. The setting, our room and the wonderful attention of all the staff made our first visit a most enjoyable experience. Formentor - a Royal Hideaway, certainly lives up to its name. A classoc 5 star hotel; graceful and elegant without prevention. Next year's stay is already being planned.

The staff was absolutely terrible and so rude! Our room was very old and the air conditioner did not work. When we checked in they made us pay extra for a room we had already booked and then were incredibly rude and made very insulting comments numerous times. We tried to cancel our stay and they would not let us out of our reservation. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful hotel, just don’t get our room!

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. We brought our 13 month old child and unfortunately they allocated us a room directly above where they play live music that kept going till midnight. That aside, brilliant place. Just make sure you don’t get our room.

Tolle Anlage, Zimmer dagegen keine 5 Sterne

Traumhaft schöne Anlage direkt am Wasser, wunderschöner Park und großer Pool. Das Zimmer hingegen keine 5 Sterne. Wir hatten ein normales Doppelzimmer gebucht, was zwar ein schönes großes Bett hatte, ansonsten aber eher abgewohnt war. Das Badezimmer klein, die Amaturen total veraltet und der Fußboden war ein billiger Laminaten, bei dem die Fugen hochkamen. Grundsätzlich alles nicht so schlimm, aber in der Preiskategorie will man sowas nicht. Das Frühstück hat dann immer alles wieder gutgemacht.

Overall a Nice hotel in beautiful settings, the staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast had a good selection but the rooms in this hotel let themselves down. We were initially given a room which was small in size & the bathroom was very dated and the paint was pealing from the side of the wall/ door. The standard reminded me of a travel lodge. You don't mind it so much at travel lodge when you're paying £35 a night but at a five star hotel it's rather disappointing. We requested to move and was moved to a better room with a renovated bathroom. This hotel felt more like a 4star

Her vil jeg bo altid

Vi havde planlagt en tur rundt på øen og havde besøgt Deia og Palma inden vi kom her, bagefter tog vi til Andraxt, men kunne ikke glemme dette smukke hotel og deres fantstiske strand - detfor tog vi tilbage - lykken var den dobbelte strandseng i første række til det lækreste vand jeg nogensinde har badet i.
