It was a pleasant experience. I happened to be staying there when hurricane Sally hit. My room stayed fine. However, the lobby was damaged by the winds and rain, lost power and water. The staff and manager on hand were excellent. They didn’t act frazzled or anxious. They took care of matters and us guests. I really enjoyed the history of the hotel, too.
People are nice. The rooms are nothing special. Very out dated. Bed is comfortable but they give you the thinnest “blanket” ever. You’re either waking up freezing at 3 am or hot because you had to leave it at 74. If you’re intown for the beach just find something around the beach you have to cross two bridges to get back to the hotel
Beautiful old hotel. Loved the history and historic beauty. However, the room was a non-smoking room but smelled like cigarette smoke. There was also not a coffee maker in the room. The room could have used a little updating. We stayed in one of the executive rooms. But still loved the stay and would stay again if we travel to Pensacola.
I had reservations about 3 weeks ago for one night. 3 hours before check in i get an email my reservations has been canceled. No phone call. I had to call to ask why. Not good customer service
