Hyggelig sted, men ikke mulig å bo med barn.

Vi bodde her da vi besøkte Kyoto. Det er gøy å oppleve hvordan Japanere bodde i tidligere tider og huset er en bra anledning til det. Imidlertid er det umulig å bo der med barn. Gamle japan bygget med ekstremt tynne vegger så vi fikk klager hver morgen og kveld fra nabo om at vi snakket for høyt og gikk for hardt på gulvene - dette til tross for at vi snakket rolig og gikk relativt stille. Med små barn som beveger seg (0-12 år) vil jeg fraråde å bo her.

隠れ家レジデンス

とても素敵な滞在になりました。ベッドも居心地よく、よく眠れました。ただ、町家ということで隣の家との距離が近く、夜ドライヤーを使っていたら隣の家から苦情が入ってしまいました。音には気をつけた方がよさそうです。それから外国人の婚約者と宿泊したのですが、彼には湯船は小さすぎてしまい、可哀想なことをしてしまいました。

Authentic stay with modern comfort

We really enjoyed our stay at the Machiya residence inn, The team of staff are very helpful and quick to respond to your questions. They helped us with restaurant booking and tea ceremony recommendation. Staff also helped us checked train schedule for the famous Sangano train line. The inn is not easy to find and it is great that they prepared excellent direction and instruction to get to the place. We also dropped off our luggage at the Dozen Ryokan prior to the check in time and the staff there was also very helpful with giving us directions. A lady also came in to check in and walk us through how to use the room. It was good as the WFI wasn’t working as the password has changed but she quickly fixed it for us. There is also cleaning service every day which is nice as typically you don’t get cleaning for this type of vacation home. The house is very well equipped with cooking utensils and dishes. It is great for folks to bring take out and eat comfortably in exchange for the crowded restaurant scene. with enough space for 4 people. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them for any questions related to your trip as they genuinely want the guest to have a good time in Japan. Special thanks to all who helped out to make it a fabulous trip for us in particular to Hanna, Yuko, Maria, Taka and Alisa

First impression of the residence was great. It was very clean and spacious. To our surprise moments later the neighbour was at our front door yelling at me in Japanese, all I understood was Shhhhhh. Later when we called the office they told us we needed to be quiet on the stairway to avoid disrupting the neighbour. Gosh I wish we knew that earlier. We had to tip toe on the staircase out of fear of being yelled at again. We instructed our child not to use the staircase until bed time. The residence was very poorly noise insulated, we could hear someone coughing next door through out the night, conversations next door and pounding could also be heard. The washer/dryer combo machine was not effective. When the wash cycle was completed the clothes were soaking wet. After the drying cycle our clothes for more than 3 hours they remained quite wet. On the positive, it had a well equipped kitchen, two toilets and a spacious bathroom. The beds were comfortable and wifi was good. Just remember to use the stairs with caution as you tip toe up and down, also ear plugs will help dampen sounds through out the night.

Noisy AC

The noisy AC made our two-night stay sleepless. We contacted the staff and they responded because the problem came from AC itself they couldn't do anything but change the settings. So the AC was not cool enough buy still made the same loud noise. Too bad, this was a very nice traditional Kyoto townhouse. I would have recommend to my friends.

既傳統又摩登的日式入住體驗!

客棧鄰近京都車站，出入不同景點及城市都非常方便。服務質素優越，客服人員操流利英語，而且非常友善。負責收拾客棧的人員非常盡責，客棧收拾得井井有條。客棧設施貼心，既有廚房供煮食，又有洗衣設備(甚至連洗衣液亦已提供!) 由於旅遊目的是休息而不需不停上網，客棧有限度的Wi-fi對本人不是問題。 總的來說，非常完美的入住體驗!

近JR京都站,日本民宿

JR京都站較近,是比較民居地方,音量需要收細,應聲...如果一大班人的話會比較不方便,家庭的話不錯. CHECKIN 是需要到他的另一個地方登記,所以BOOK時要注意...不是直接入住..需要點時間...但都不會距離太遠,用GOOGLE最好找..可給個參考如果是買PASS到河原町,烏丸等等...有3人以上坐TAXI都不貴,不用1000YEN...因BUS都要230YEN/人..除非是買BUS DAY PASS...否則我建議TAXI比較方便.. 整體第一次住這種,感覺新鮮,上下兩個層空間感很好..這麼冷..很貼心的早就開了暖氣,一進屋就不冷. 唯一是隔音真的不好...

Fun alternative to hotel.

Nice accommodation if you wish to live in a traditional Japanese house. But be prepared to spend time to find a check in location and then find your way to the accommodation.

Great little Japanese town house

It is probably the closest you get to feeling like a Japanese family staying here. House was a bit smaller than expected but location is great. Bathrooms are modern and hotel standard. Could do with a few extra cushions in the living room to provide some comfort.

完美的町屋被空调糟蹋了

很完美的町屋：方便的交通；中心的地理位置；安静的环境；整洁的房间；设施齐全的小厨房；DIY的早餐。。。一切似乎很完美，可惜，楼上卧房的空调声音太大了，当然，楼下空调还是很好的，但厨房的冰箱似乎不太好，几乎每5-10分钟马达就会有声响。幸好，现在不是最热的季节，晚上睡觉关上空调不至于影响睡眠。但如果真正夏季入住，对于睡眠要求高的人来说，是个麻烦。如果空调可以改善，就是没有瑕疵的了。

Perfect Cultural Scent

객실이 청결하다.

일본의 숙박시설이 다 그럴 것으로 추측되지만 공간이 협소하다는 것 외에는 크게 험 잡을 것이 없는 곳입니다. 특히 가족단위나 친구끼리 여행을 와서 이용하기에 좋을 것 같습니다. 일반적인 호텔과 다르게 단독주택을 외국 여행을 와서 이용한다 것이 색다른 경험이 될 수 있을 것 같습니다.

It's a good choice for family or a group of friend

A little bit difficult to find the location and the check in place is 20 mins walk from where you actul gonna stay. Overall is nice,cozy and clean. Location wise is not so bad.

An amazing place to stay!

We had accommodations at three cities - Tokyo, Kyoto and Hakone - and this was the highlight for us. Our children (15 & 17) really enjoyed the whole townhouse even though it was small. It was in a residential area and we all felt we were leaving like the locals. The house was impeccably clean and even though it is a traditional Japanese house, the toilets (2), shower, bathtub, kitchen electronics are high-tech. It has a full kitchen (small but very functional) with stove, pots and pans, microwave, refrigerator. It even comes with a washer/dryer and they provide the laundry soap. It is only a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station and there was so much to see on the way there. It was not hard to get to, only a small block away from the main street to Kyoto Station. We highly recommend this for families and even a group of friends. It can easily accommodate 4+. Great for couples as well.

很棒得京都体验，和风建筑

非常古老得建筑，和风感很强，房子里充满木头香味，住的也很舒服。全包得旅店非常自由，如果能有餐饮得服务会更完美。

家族、外人さんには喜ばれる

今回はじめて予約しました。（２泊3日） エクスペデイアでは宿の詳細がわからなく予約したのですが、宿のHPを見てみると１日一組の一棟貸しの宿でした。 ９月の３連休の3日前の急な予約でしたが、両親はホテルよりゆっくりできて良かったと大満足してもらえました。 ただ、寝るときの浴衣は持参というのが不便なのと、２階の寝室のエアコンがうるさく、寝るときにはちょっと両親も不快だったようです。。。 その他は、綺麗でアメニティも豊富ですしスタッフの対応（メールでの）もよくよかったです。 ５条の駅には近いのですが、周辺は食事するところがほぼないので、夕飯はいつもタクシーをつかってました。
