I can’t say thank you enough to everyone at this hotel. Our flight was diverted and we lost all our reservations for our first night in Costa Rica. They helped us get a rental and let us check out later to get situated. The breakfast was included and it was definitely good food. This stay ended up being a blessing in disguise.

There were ants all over the propery, the owner first said it’s Costa Rica and bugs are expected, then he said he did some treatment, but ants were still there on the beds even. Me and my wife had bites on arms and stomach. Nowhere close to pictures. Located 6km from city in an industrial complex, location accessible by a dirt road and does not look safe. It is just some mountain cabins built on his home yard. Fixtures are very poor in a 4’ wide bathroom. The small pool is used for his restaurant guests during the day. If in US, it won’t be worth 50$. In Costa Rica don’t go by price, these guys don’t depend on repeat customers, just go with a name you know.

Quiet hotel tucked away in the suburbs of Liberia

We were looking for a quiet hotel to stay at for 2 days to get our bearing after lading in Liberia. This was a great choice as it was a few miles away from Liberia city center, so it was quieter and calmer. No major roads around. Although we were surprised to see this hotel tucked away behind a major bus depot, the setting a clean, green and welcoming. The small pool ( with a waterfall which the kids loved) and the back yard was very welcome to let the kids run around and play. I would definitely recommend this place if you need a hotel to stay at on your way in and out of Liberia.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything with the cabin, restaurant and staff were great. The only thing preventing an overall 5/5 were the pillows and the lack of lack of sound proofing. Otherwise it was quite enjoyable.

The worst of the worst

We made reservations from the airport using the airport's WiFi; they were having some server issues so it was super slow. My husband saw this hotel was "supposedly" located 5 miles away; because it took forever for the Expedia page to load, and because we were basically stranded and running out of option, we booked. The cab driver explained that it was much further away and he called the hotel for us and canceled the reservation. The was maybe 15 minutes after making the reservation. We had him take us to a nearby hotel where we were able to contacted Expedia to let them know about our cancellation. A while later, we received an email from Expedia telling us we need to call the hotel "to explain the reason why we cancelled." I called, and this ridiculously rude man who happened to be the owner, asked us for a reason. I explained again and that he remembered the phone call and cancelled, but still needed a reason. I explained again but he refused to return the funds. Moreover, he hardly spoke Spanish, I imagine his English was even worse, and he CHARGED us anyway, even though we never checked in and cancelled mere minutes after we placed the reservation. To make matters worse, the owner was rude, hot tempered, I kept explaining to him, over and over, why we were cancelling and he still didn't get it. Annoyed that this guy took our money; so, we ended paying for two hotel rooms...
