Excellent hotel. Room was clean and quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was also excellent and the hotel food was also excellent. Very pleased to have chosen and stayed here.
Fantastic location, beautiful building with amazing decor.
Staff friendly and helpful.
The room was very homely comfortable and relaxing best nights sleep we have had away from home in a long time
Cannot recommend enough.
Beautiful place. Bedroom was very modern and plush, great walk in shower and bath tub. Extremely comfy bed. Very quiet room, good soundproofing. Breakfast and dinner both excellent.
This hotel is of a top standard that many hotels could learn from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return. This hotel is the perfect half way stop between Aberdeen and the Midlands. Room was excellent. Service faultless. Restaurant and food top quality. Limited food choice but all top quality selection for all tastes. We loved this hotel. Congratulation to the management and staff for a lovely stay.
We stopped overnight at the Fleece returning home to London from Scotland. It was delightful stay. A very comfortable room and great bathroom. Attentive service and a good dinner. Breakfast was not quite so good, but adequate for what we wanted before we got back on the road.
4th time we have stayed here and it never disappoints. The service is excellent, food excellent and the rooms and facilities are always to a very high standard.
We like the touch of a complimentary beer and GnT in the fridge as well as water - ideal after a long drive!
Amazing everything was superb clean the beds so comfortable.. the price is so cheap for the quality I would give the hotel a 5 star unfortunately no gym!! The EV chargers work fine and ok to use if you Wi-Fi for app they are also cheap!! Love the bathrooms the staff I will stay again
Lovely hotel, clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds, nice deep bath and separate shower in the bathroom with posh Rituals shower gel, shampoo etc. Friendly staff, nice seating area on a mezanine library and in the bar. Breakfast good choice. Had Sunday roast when we got there, only issue was the beef was too rare for me, they should have said on the menu cooked rare and I would have chosen something else. Everything else amazing, would go back, felt very relaxed and pampered.
Beautifully furnished, very clean, excellent food, staff so friendly and helpfull, overall excellent value, highly recommended, only negative was noise and vibration in bedroom due to music ?! in the function room below, on this occasion way above normal levels
The hotel has recently been refurbished and it is to a wonderfully high standard with lovely decor in keeping with the surrounding area. It's a great location if you are wanting to visit Hadrian's wall with a couple of English Heritage visitors centres within a short drive.
The staff were all super friendly and helpful, especially with one of us walking with a stick.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the bed very comfortable. We loved the library areas with the couches and lots of books to look through.
Dinner was delicious.
We were only staying one night while on our way up to Scotland but it was a fabulous start to our holiday and we would love to go back!
My partner and I stayed in room 15 from 19th till 21st September, bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Huge bathroom with multiple jet shower and deep bathtub, fluffy white towels, bathrobe and slippers provided. Lovely touch to see complimentary beer and gin in the room. The hotel decor is stunning and very tastefully done. Had breakfast both days, great choice and quality ingredients. Lunch and dinner on Friday was also superb. Staff are so friendly and can't do enough to make your stay special. The hotel, room and exterior are spotlessly clean. Can't think of any negatives, truly a wonderful stay and will definitely return
We had had two very nice nights’ stay at the Fleece as part of a tour of Hadrian’s wall.
The pub/hotel has been refurbished to a high standard with quality materials, joinery and fittings.
We stayed in a superior room that was very well maintained and much larger than we expected.
We ate breakfast both mornings. There was a buffet (cereals, juice, toast, pastries, yoghurt, etc.) and a good range of dishes cooked to order.
Dinner was also excellent with a good choice, high quality food and very good service.
The staff on the first day were extremely good - professional, experienced and attentive. The second day there were different staff who were less professional and less experienced, but it didn’t spoil the stay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend it.
Booked the morning of our stay. Fabulous hotel with exceptional value for money. Advised us on where to go whilst waiting for room to be available for check in as we were early. Would love to stay again if we are ever in the area.
