Set up base camp for 2 nights spent day at Mungo National Park. Coffee at Mungo Lodge, Self Drive loop 70km in the NP sunset at Walls of China with NP guide. Dinner at Mungo lodge and back to the Edge for a spa and drinks. Perfect
Wasn't expecting much but the place is a hidden gem. Had to stop here overnight for work so I just needed a bed. There is not much around to walk to but the room was fantastic, clean and the bathrooms were up to date and clean. My room was facing the back so I had no noise some of the other people commented on. Had a meal there and this was ok too. If you have a trailer or truck, this is a great place as there is a huge car park out the back with plenty of room. You could turn a B double out the back.
Comfortable, clean rooms. A little noisy, as it is situated next to the highway/border. It would be nice to have vegetarian meals available in the bistro.
Staff member tried to charge me $110 when I'd already paid less online through wotif. Then took 15 mins to re-check that I'd paid, even though I'd showed her the transaction receipt on my phone. Finally got the key & then ordered dinner. The food was delicious, but served with no cutlery. The bed was hard & you could feel the springs. The photos on wotif didn't resemble anything like the room that I stayed in and after 9 hours in the car with 2 young kids, I was pretty disappointed with the level of service & quality of the room. 2.5 to 3 stars maximum rating. Not recommended if you want good service & a decent sleep.
