"Great location, so close to town centre, fantastic host, George couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely room overlooking the quiet cobblestone one way street in view of the cathedral. Breakfast has a selection that is cooked to order and is amazing, the full English is a must. Had a wonderful short stay that couldn’t have been better, thanks 40 Winks"

"Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. While there, we walked the yard and fields behind the house, went down to the river, accompanied by Barney and Spencer (the Burnhopeside dogs!). Breakfast was delicious and elegantly presented.
