"The hotel and grounds are well maintained. Lovely! The front desk service was superb. However, the service at the buffet was very inconsistent. Be sure to ask about egg options. Don’t always offer them to you. Doesn’t appear there is a system for clearing tables, managing the buffet and sharing options with customers. Stay away from the buffer during last 45 minutes. Service even more disjointed. "

"The rooms are lovely with great views of the Douro. We did the tour of the cellars and tasting with the wonderful Patricia.It would have been nice to have comfy chairs by the windows n the room for the price paid tho. The restaurant is overpriced and was a big disappointment for the price paid. If you order starters, main, dessert and wine, expect to pay close to €200 a couple which is ridiculous. Cost of wine is triple what the retail price is which prohibited us from trying it. Seems like an...
