Lovely place to stay. Historic building with lots of character. Easy check in and can come and go easily from property. Some noise from other rooms/guests. Small but workable bathroom. Lovely room.

This property is a very old building and offers quite a quirky style of accommodation. However this only added to the enjoyment of our stay at Ross on Wye. The room was very large and catered for all our requirement. An absolutely lovely place to stay. Would thoroughly recommend.

It was a splendid place to stay. If you love history then you must stay here. It is very convenient for eateries, parking and it fulfils all the expectations that we have got used to these days. We only stayed one night but we wished we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect. Thank you.

Stop over on route to Oldfield forge

Lovely old building with lots of original features, very quirky we loved it ! Very comfortable, nice large room, bathroom adequate but needs a bit of attention. Great view through the bathroom window. Lovely garden area. Close to Town which is lovely, lots of Restraunt's for Breakfast & dinner inc Wetherspoons for a budget brunch.

Quirky

Quirky house with access to a lovely garden, offering countryside views, and seating with tables. Free parking is steps away. Very comfortable room overlooking the garden with sofa and original fireplace and beams.

Lovely place

It was so cute! We had a huge fireplace in our room. Made it feel like stepping back in time. The building is from the 1690s. Really enjoyed our stay.

The property is very old and quirky its what I wanted as I was working in the area. It is at the top of the high street and close to places to eat and drink. I did not get to see much of Ross due to work

Loved the historic interest in this unique property. Warm room and comfy bed. Our room also had some very interesting features and great art. The bathroom in our room needed a bit of an update. But it's really quiet considering you are in the middle of Ross on Wye. Great location and nice people :)

Quirky old courthouse

Quirky old building with loads of character. Difficult access to room. Difficult parking. All in all was a pleasant experience.

The property advertised car parking available - false!!. The pictures indicated a really pretty house with gardens and historic bedrooms: in fact the entrance was dirty with a huge armoire stuffed in the space and leading up some steep stone steps to a landing which was dark and dingy, the pictured gardens could be accessed via a door marked Private and the rooms were up a narrow dark staircase. Room was reasonably clean but had dust on every surface, bathroom was in what looked like a converted corridor with shower and a toilet where you couldn’t sit straight it was so narrow, basin (old 1970’s avocado color) was in the bedroom and set into a cheap old and battered Formica worktop, fridge under was sat on what looked like old foil backed insulation. Were it not for the fact that we were staying one night I would have run hard and fast. Sadly other accommodation in the town looked similarly run down and overall Ross on Wye is not the town it used to be. Very disappointing and we felt very misled by the on line description. The ratings on Expedia must be fake as I can’t see anyone rating this anywhere near an 8-10 for any aspect.

Quite an unusual property which I really liked but it wasn’t what my partner would have chosen. They did come round to it though. Very handy for the town and restaurants and lovely walks nearby. Fridge in room with water, bathroom a little cramped but at least it was clean and the host (who I think may live there) was very friendly.

Lovely room

Great location and lovely historic building. Spacious, well furnished room up 2 flights of stairs. Very comfortable bed and sofa. Room was cold though, had to use the fan heater which was supplied. Bathroom was tiny, hand basin was in the room. Shower cubicle dated and not very clean sadly. Bottled water supplied in the fridge and tea/coffee and biscuits. Enjoyed staying there overall.

It’s an oldie worldie place but it’s quirky enough to give it a 5 out of 5. It’s odd and won’t feature highly in the top 10 places to visit but it’s convenient. The rooms are very old and well…..odd with random furniture scattered about but the owner is friendly and it’s close to shops and places to eat. Shower was warm and bed was comfy. There’s free parking on the road a few minutes walk away between 6pm and 9am. If you’ve walking difficulties this hotel might not be for you as there’s no lift and the stairs are tight.

Lovely stopover!

Lovely, warm & friendly owners! Room had good facilities and was quite spacey, clean and comfy - as was the ensuite. There was also a kind gesture upon arrival of free coffee, tea, bottled water, biscuits and toiletries. Overall we enjoyed our stopover and would not hesitate to come back in the future. On a slightly negative side - although the bed was just about ok for a one night stopover, any longer than that would've become an issue for our backs unfortunately. Also it does get quite noisy from around 5am onwards due to loud traffic on road outside of single glazed windows. Parking was basically fend for yourselves - although owner was able to recommend affordable pay & display car parks about 400 to 500 meters down the road. However we were lucky enough to find oulselves a kerbside space up behind the property which was basically free from 4pm until 11am the following morning.
