Disappointing

To call our room a '2 bedroom apartment' is a big stretch of the imagination. At best it should be described as a studio with loft. The only bathroom must be accessed via the downstairs bedroom. Unfortunately, when you attend an Australian Surf Lifesaving Titles you are a captive of higher than usual prices no matter where the event is held and it's us poor punters who pay the price. Yes, the same people that volunteer on your beaches every weekend in summer to keep the general public safe. For some reason the restaurant and bar were closed for our stay and the whole place looked like it needed a good scrub, not just a splash of bleach wafting in the air. Overall it was very disappointing

Far too expensive for what you get

If it was a cheapie you'd probably be happy with what you get. I booked a 'Two Bedroom Apartment' - it is nothing of the sort. It has a main lounge/bedroom/kitchen area, and stairs up to a loft style area with beds positioned under a very low sloping ceiling at the corners. The main downstairs area is really only just large enough for the bed, but this area is also your main living area and kitchen. This 'Two Bedroom Apartment' might be ok for a family of 4 with 2 kids, but I would recommend against for a party of 4 adults. As others have noted, the shower screen is stupidly small, and so the bathroom floor is always flooded after use. The restaurant is also now permanently closed.

Use to be outstanding

Restaurant closed despite sign saying otherwise . Toilet hard to flush Reception now opens st 830am!

Awful & frightening no staff from 6pm-8.30 am

Whilst staying there the owner had sold this run down hotel unknown to his staff my room had not been cleaned or given fresh towels called the emergency out of hours number a landline and mobile no one picked up , they pernentntly closed the bar and restaurant worst experience ever in a hotel the noise from other room that must have been having a party upstairs got no sleep they only gave refund for the remaining two nights I didn’t stay as I had to find somewhere safe and clean to stay not taking in to account I had to borrow towels from the hotel opp filthy room , no security no way of getting anything to eat or drink should be given full refund disgusted I wasn’t offered by either the hotel or Expedia felt sorry for the hotel reception staff though that lost their jobs they were nice and poilite

Has seen better days

Terrible smell (mould) when you open the cupboards. Same smell comes out of the kitchen sink when you turn on the water. Dark room, no sunlight. Had paid for an upgrade, the room we had originally booked was facing the noisy highway. We didn't know that many of their rooms are basically right on an extremely busy road. The room itself was large and looked sort of renovated at first glance but in fact it was not, the smell was just terrible. The "resort" itself is rundown and needs a lot of maintenance.

Very pleasant Hotel

This hotel had a great feel. Along with its location. Very much as it is represented on Expedia.

Great location

Right on Scarborough Beach with restaurants and cafes closeby. Pitty about the wind though.

Nice hotel but need to work on presentation

Room was not cleaned as fluid stains down the foot stool, dirty marks on furniture hadn't been wiped over, exhaust fan did not function or work properly in the bathroom, bathroom door didn't shut properly. The pool was nice but needs some TLC in that the scum line on the tiles hadn't been cleaned in a long time, the paver's around the edge where loose and could be lifted up. This place would be very nice if some extra care and work went into the presentation and cleanliness.

Great location

Nice hotel close to the beach and restaurants. Room was very clean and tidy however, the decor is a little tired. Pool looked lovely and inviting.

Their website says secure onsite parking but surcharged wifi as well .there was limited free parking, hard to find. One receptionist was helpful to park free parking. The room was ordinary but clean.

Excellent beach and facilities location

My last minute booking really paid off! Excellent location close to beach and facilities as well as easy access to major roads. Very clean and well organised room with good use of space. I felt safe as a solo traveller. To note the "do not disturb" lock did not work as I did get a fright from the house keeper while cleaning my teeth. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel close to beach, but rooms smelled dank

Everything fine about hotel - except dank smell in rooms. I got moved into another room very easily (staff lovely about it), but next room had same dank smell. Had to leave window open all night to minimise - which didn't feel safe as opened next to walkway.

Good value

Comfortable bed, good shower and clean. One comment I would make is that an armchair in the room would have made my stay much more comfortable.

Disappointed

We were recommended the boutique hotel by a friend. Unfortunately the venue didn't live up to its reputation. I was lured in and tempted by an add for a discounted room which looked great in the pictures. However when we arrived Firstly there was no parking available when we arrived, so we had to pay for secure parking. An extra fee we weren't counting on. Secondly the room was at the very back of the hotel and extremely small. It was actually an adjoining room that was behind the main room. Then I couldn't connect to the internet we had to pay an additional fee to connect. Once we settled in we decided to have a shower, this was a juggling act weather we could achieve any hot water(as soon as another room turned On their taps it went hot then very cold) The mattress on the bed was old and sagged into the middle - so not very comfortable at all. We will not be going back there. The shower was

Rooms are quite spacious and let you move around in them. location is great if you want get out for a walk or access anywhere on the coastline.

beautiful garden & pool area, close to beach

It was a very relaxing time with good privacy. Big room with a large bed to boot. Easy access to the beachfront, shopping cafe's etc. Great spot & very pleasant experience.
