Hotel is situated a 6 minutes walk from the train station. A good neighborhood. Staff polite and helpful. The hotel is inviting and clean, as was our room.
Convenience stores nearby where you can get just about anything.. Helpful there is a laundry washer and dryer on site, As well as a microwave and ice machine. Breakfast is more than adequate.
The main attraction of this hotel is that it's only a 5 minute walk to Kyoto station and thus easy to travel anywhere. The huge downside is the poor quality of the Japanese breakfast. Same thing everyday and poor quality with poor service. I have loved the Japanese breakfast at all my hotels thus far except for this place. Skip it because there are so many options elsewhere within easy walking distance elsewhere. There is a 7 eleven within 3 minute walk if you need snacks and beverages. Again, very sad breakfast.
Very nice location, literally 5 minutes from Kyoto central station. Good sound proofing. Friendly staff, restaurant downstairs, convenience store on the corner of the street. The room was somewhat smaller than I thought, but it was perfect size for a single traveler. I am happy that I stayed there.
The staff is great, and the property is clean, located about a 7-minute walk from Kyoto station. However, the breakfast is terrible. It’s not a buffet-style it only Japanese breakfast with no various options; instead, it’s the same food every time.
I would give this stay a 3.5/5!
Pros: Very clean and well-maintained property. Has a microwave/ice machine, and staff available. The location is honestly the highlight of this hotel, a 5 minute walk to anything you need, including Kyoto station, the mall, convenience stores, or coffee shops.
Cons: the room was small (we did expect this, and although we didn’t bring much it did feel cramped). It satisfied what we needed but I believe they could’ve done more with the space - there was a huge desk and 65” TV, and to be honest, we would’ve preferred more floor space as opposed to things we would not use. Additionally, I found their housekeeping policies very difficult and not very understanding. We usually don’t require housekeeping as we are both very clean people and prefer no one be in our space when we’re on vacation, but the hotel staff kept entering our room despite using their hands-off policies as specified (leaving the trashcans outside the door so they can swap them out for us, and putting used towels hanging on the rack by the door so they can replace). We then got a notice on our TV on day three that regardless of whether or not we wanted them to come in, they would have to come into our room to service it. When I spoke with the staff, they seemed to not understand me and continued to enter our room without consent.
Overall, this was a lovely place to stay for our week in Kyoto! Very close to everything we needed, but wanted to make other travellers aware :)
