This was BY FAR the best spot we stayed at during our three week trip. Not very costly, very convenient, very clean and the amenities provided are phenomenal. Great hotel, would recommend staying here for many reasons: close to kyoto station/the mall, there's a konbini attached to the hotel, the room was a decent size!

R West Group VIA INN Prime Kyotoeki Hachijoguchi is a solid choice mainly because of its unbeatable location. While the rooms do feel a bit outdated, the convenience more than makes up for it. The hotel is just a short walk from Kyoto Station and very close to malls and shopping centers, making it easy to get around and find food or things to do. Having a 7-Eleven right in the building is a huge plus and incredibly convenient, especially after a long day of sightseeing. The pajamas provided are also nice and comfortable, which was a pleasant bonus. Overall, if location and convenience matter more to you than modern room design, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

Overall the experience was good but the rooms were very small and tight. The locations was convenient which is right next to kyoto train station. The breakfast was amazing.
