Very clean and tidy, basic room. I was happy with the reasonable price that matched the quality and the economy room we booked, and the friendly staff who were very kind, helpful and supportive. They provided all basic necessities and toiletries. The hotel was in a good location and in convenient walking distance of the areas we visited nearby like the markets and shopping areas. I’d highly recommend this stay if you’re a simple, budget/economy traveler and are comfortable walking around in the area. The only thing I’d request is to please add more pillows on our beds. One pillow is just not enough but I did appreciate the hospitality and for providing more pillows as requested and the refrigerator in the room helps along with the water dispenser in the lobby was a major plus!!!

The location was perfect as we prefer to be away from main tourist hub but it was an easy walk to bus station. rental bikes and scooters outside. Laundry convenient. We had a family of four and booked the family room, 9th floor. Plenty of room. Simple but clean and comfortable!

Pro: a reception is present from 8am to 11pm and they were helpful and friendly. They have coffee, tea, shaver, clean towels, tissue paper for replenishment; the futon were extremely comfortable!!! Value for money. Con: with such hot weather; the walk to subway was not at all pleasant. Only 2 washing machines (with dry function) are available and if some guests choose wash and dry which will take like 2 hrs....it is a bottleneck for other guests. Very hot while waiting for the elevator as they is no air ventilation at all.

The Wayfarer was the perfect base to travel from and very clean and spacious. I could have spent my whole trip just relaxing in the space! The staff were also foreigner friendly and very knowledgeable and kind. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

The staff was welcoming and kind. There are bikes that can be used stationed outside the hotel, making it convenient to get around Kyoto. Major attractions are within a 10 minute driving distance. There is also a bus stop near the hotel. This hotel is conveniently located for getting around the city.

The hotel could do a better job putting toilet paper in the room. Had to retrieve it in the lobby which doesn't seem right on some level. A coffee pot in the room with coffee would have been a nice touch. Excellent staff, clean room, room layout and entrance to the hotel nice. Safety deposit box a good thing.

We had a comfortable stay in Wayfarer hotel. Staff were very kind and helpful. We didn’t had any communication issues with the staff, hotel was foreigner friendly. Only one night my next door neighbour was loud otherwise overall lovely stay. Would come back again if we visit Japan in future.
