"We were scheduled to check in at 3 PM, but the staff were so slow that we had to wait 30 minutes at the reception. Conversely, although check-out was at 12 PM, they rushed us into our room at 11 AM. The food was delicious and the pool was nice. However, the water in the overwater villas was dirty and covered in a lot of algae, so you can't swim directly into the sea from your room."

"I’ve been to Akumal & Playa Blanca secrets.. this ranks last in our list. The property seemed worn down, food quality was not a good as the other secrets, and overall the service was very slow at any restaurant we dined in. Probably will not return to this property. When you’ve been to other high quality resorts.. you kinda expect almost the same experience."

"Although the rooms were very nice , they expect two adults to sleep on one full size bed . They refuse to provide a rollaway bed . We had to repack our things and waste half a day changing rooms to a king bed and a pull out couch . Luckily we were 3 but you are a party of 4 you will definitely need 2 rooms . "Pros: beautiful hotel, friendly and quick staff, great entertainment, this is seaweed season however the smell is only bad at first then your nose somehow adjust and you don’t smell it anymore. The resort can call taxis for you. Cons: A/C - the temperature is locked at 23 degrees Celsius which is 73 degrees Fahrenheit. You can turn the A/C up higher but not lower than 23C/73F. "Did not meet expectations. When I got there requested a bigger room. The penthouse suite is what I got and they said that was the best room. Family that we traveled with got a family suite which would have been more suitable for my family’s needs. Did not like our room. Check in staff was not helpful and confusing. Food was ok.
