San Juan was surprisingly walkable. Old San Juan was sobmuch cleaner than expected given some of the safety concerns of the La Perla district. There was absolutely no grafiti anywhere in this area. The buildings were brightly colored and vibrant vibe

San Juan is a big city!.. so know the places to go. But we ventured off and found great spots where mainly locals went. For me, Isla Verde beach was fun but a little TOO urban for where I'd want to stay. Loved the Condado Beach area and Old San Juan.

San Juan is a beautiful city in a spectacular location. It suffers from many issues, such as poor infrastructure, inadequate public transportation, and crime, however it is also one of the most culturally dynamic urban areas in the Caribbean.

Take a walking tour of Old San Juan. Wander the streets on your own aimlessly as well. Visit the castles (El Morro and Cristobal) and don't rush it. Read the signs. Spend a little cash in La Perla and follow the sounds of live musica.

San Juan (old town) is possibly the best preserved Spanish colonial town in the Americas. At least as far as I've seen. I hear Cartagena, Columbia is also well preserved. It's mostly shopping there but safe and interesting.

Second time visiting San Juan & each time I fall more in love with this island. The locals, the food and culture keeps bringing back. If you're looking for a place to relax, and enjoy the beaches, this is the place to go!

I enjoyed walking the El Morro historical sites and learning about PR's history. If you like a little more peace and quiet, I would recommend staying in Condado vs Old San Juan. OSJ is very busy and the streets are tight.

Old San Juan is a beautiful and historic islet with cobblestone streets and is very walkable. It has forts, beaches, museums, plazas, lovely buildings from the 1700's, and restaurants with traditional Puerto Rican food.

I got married here 30 years ago. And it really hasn't changed much. Food is fantastic, the streets are bumpy because the bluish colored bricks are actually ballast from the Spanish trading ships starting in the 1500's.

Old San Juan is a beautiful colonial town with a lot of history and amazing architecture. Plenty of bar and scenery to visit. The San Felipe el Morro Castle is impressive and amazing. Definitely will visit again.
