5 Stars Hotels in Hanoi

The number of five-star hotels in Hanoi has increased dramatically ever since the Vietnamese capital city welcomed its first Western visitors. Today, at least nine places to stay in Vietnam's second most populous city boast five-star ratings.

One of the oldest five-star hotels in Hanoi is Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, first built in 1901 in the heart of the city's historic Old Quarter. The French colonial exterior, Opera wing, and Metropole wing may remain much the same as a century ago, but the rooms boast just as many modern features as their counterparts in more contemporary properties.

An even older Hanoi landmark, the Golden Lotus Pagoda, can be seen from the private room balconies at another five-star property, the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake. Private limousines, butlers, and a bar on a private island only reached by a torch-lit bridge are this West Lake property's most luxurious perks. Elegant Suites Westlake is a five-star lakeside aparthotel complex. The units all feature jetted tubs, fireplaces, kitchens, and laundry facilities. This luxury establishment also contains a restaurant, a couple of bars, a health club, an outdoor pool, and many more of the same amenities found at more conventional five-star hotels in Hanoi.

The relaxing West Lake area is also home to another five-star Sofitel property, Sofitel Plaza Hanoi, where guests are greeted with slippers and bathrobes. This is also one of the few five-star hotels in Hanoi with an indoor swimming pool. Self-parking and public wireless internet access are both free.

Business guests may prefer the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi because of a closer location to the Vietnam National Convention Centre. This is also one of the most family-friendly five-star hotels in Hanoi due to its onsite playground, free children's club, and special children's swimming pool.
