"We only stayed one night in Rome so therefore only one night in the hotel. This hotel was walking distance to some very nice restaurants in the lively neighborhood of Trastevere. It was a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. The hotel room was very clean, beautifully decorated, and the bed was comfortable. I was not a fan of the key less entry because I had to log in to my email to use it every time. Otherwise, everything was fine."

"Location was amazing. Close to fantastic food options and Rome historical sites. Hotel room is small but all you need if you aren’t there very much. Shower is small. At 200lbs it’s a tight fit. Be aware that you’ll need to carry luggage up stairs. Roof top patio is nice to sit at the end of day. Very safe area."

"I was informed when I arrived that my reservation did not include breakfast - which is strange since I always include breakfast. I’m not sure if this was an Expedia issue or a hotel issue, but there was no way to go back and see if it was clearly disclosed that breakfast was not included. It was 3 people so an additional 75euro/breakfast - which did not seem worth it. Breakfast was just OKAY. Upon arrival was told I got a free upgrade - but it wasn’t - it looked exactly like the room I booked. My main issue was we booked a suite for 3-adults - but it was not set up for 3 adults. It only had 2 sets of towels and the “bed,” which was a sofa, did not have bedding (no sheets, Pillows, towels, blankets). We had to ask for them and got the items piecemeal from housekeeping. And we continued to have to ask for the 3rd set of towels and additional toilet paper. Disappointing for a hotel in this price range. Staff was pretty nice in general, but it did take a very long time to get the breakfast drinks we ordered (upwards of 20min for a cappuccino). Very pretty, loved the shower, and the rooftop restaurant was very good (also hot). Overall, I would never go back, but the visit was basically nice. Last year stayed at a different place that I much preferred."

"Lovely quiet and dark rooms, lovely staff, great pool. A couple of small gripes… being provided wooden knives and forks when you order food by the pool. When paying €28 for a small panini with crisps and €9 for a small coke you expect proper cutlery. Also €30 for a half hour sauna and steam, this should be free. After checking out there should be somewhere where you can shower and change before an evening flight having spent the day by the pool or exploring Rome. Using the outside pool shower and changing in the pool toilet isn’t very 5 star."

Hotel La Rovere

"Really comfortable, clean, and lovely room. Great location. But the staff wasn’t helpful for a 4 star hotel and could use training. There is no ironing board in the room so I asked the front desk. She got it out of a closet and told me to bring it up to the room myself (it was a large/heavy/clunky ironing board). The iron itself was dirty and it looked like someone else had used it and burnt something onto it, so the residue immediately stained my clothes… when I went downstairs, the front desk immediately asked me to bring it down without offering to help and seemed in a rush to have it back. It wasn’t a good impression in terms of service."
