It was clean and close to many major attractions. We asked for fresh towels for three days before we finally received some. There were no glasses and the space was very small.
Mario was so incredibly helpful from arranging a bag to be held for us a day early to walking us through the check in, start to finish! Always professional and courteous! Will be returning in the future!
We were a family of 3 and the property served a purpose for us. The location is amazing, just close enough to be able to walk to and from all the major attractions.
Mario at the accommodation is such a gentleman and cannot do enough to help. You tell him your plans, and what you want to do and where you’re going, he’ll help and point out everything you need to see on the way.

The scheduled transfer from the airport didn't happen so we were left to find our own transportation. No one was present when we arrived midday so we were given a code to let ourselves in. The safe didn't work but that was never addressed after being reported. The furniture was worn. Not sure we were given the room we reserved. We had to leave our room to access our private bath which was in the hallway outside our room. The manager was present and directed us to a bus that took us to our scheduled walking tour which was helpful. Building was historic and centrally located within walking distance to several sites.
The owner is very kind and was so helpful and had character right from when you walk in. He assisted me when I mentioned that a friend would be surprising me in Rome and would add an extra person. Now, I found that he upcharged us quite a bit and asked for cash for her to also be included, which costed me hundreds in canadian. This was a bit odd as I basically paid double for the room. He told us he would upgrade our room to a double bed but I ended up paying for it. When we entered, we were kicked out the room and told we get a new room with a king size bed as the couple that came in wanted separate beds. The pillows were soft and bed was nice, however, the security box was locked, we had no hand soap which we asked for each day and did not get, and the shower was very dirty and did not drain properly. The body soap dispenser was broken and everything was not worth the price. The location was amazing, however, we tried our best not to spend time in the hotel. Room service included only changing garbages. Everything (changing towels and hand soap) was upon request which you had to text. We also felt slightly rushed out before check-out so it was a little bit all over the place.

Mario is such an amazing host. He gave such good suggestions to activities, food and tips that only locals know.
The place was conveniently located to all the walking areas. Most people thing being next to Colosseum is ideal, but this place is perfect walking distance to shopping, food, and all the other sites you would want to see.
Fantastic location . Restaurants and shops all in close walking distance. Metro is very close .
Mario the manger was super helpful and very knowledgeable. Very happy with our experience at Basilio 55 !!
We had a very pleasant stay at Basilio55. The central location is a big highlight – many of Rome’s main attractions are within walking distance, which made exploring the city easy and enjoyable.
Mario was especially friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He was always available for questions and gave us great tips, which we really appreciated.
The accommodation was clean and well-equipped. Overall, we would definitely recommend Basilio55 to anyone looking for a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay in Rome.
The property was in a good location, walking distance to Trevi fountain and other historic center locations, as well as coffee bars (Gino's was great), restaurants, and mini-markets. Unfortunately our room had some issues taking away from the experience. When we checked in, half the shower door was missing and the cover for the toilet flushing mechanism was missing. We reported it to the staff and after a couple days they were able to add a shower curtain that at least stopped the water from spraying all over the floor and replaced the cover. The property has potential, but it needs a little more TLC.
Basilio 55 is a great find in the heart of Rome. From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect – the staff, and the service.
The location is amazing – a lovely place to relax and enjoy a good rest after going outside after discovering the city of Rome. I had a great experience from beginning to end. highly recommended, and we would definitely return on our next trip to Rome.
The hotel was so convenient to get to any major tourist spot in Rome. It was right next to the Metro station, only two stops from the termini or the central train station where you can get to the airport by two 30 (14 euro) or 60 mins (8 euro) trains. It was right across Hilton, so you know how good the location can be.

Location is great as it’s a block away from the metro, but the room we stayed in was a crap show. The shower door was broken, the power kept going out and it wasn’t very clean. The staff is not very helpful and they’re hardly at the front desk.
Great location and a beautiful property !
Mario the manager is very helpful and is the best guide to Roma !

Overall we had a good stay here. Nice hosts, good location. Accommodation was clean, nice big bed but was a littke tired in areas and not the best shower. It had a fridge but no kettle for making hot drinks which was a shame. We enjoyed our stay and had a fantastic visit to Rome.
Excellent location, staff was extremely friendly, thanks Mario for all your help. The hotel is within a walking distance of most touristic areas. Clean, renovated rooms. 10/10

Great staff and a good location. Need to be fit as there is only a very small lift so we tended to use the spiral staircase.Decor needs upgrading and the lighting in one of our rooms was poor but a good price for the location we were in.
Good location, central to walk to all of the big spots. Mario was friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations.
This property is not what it was advertised as. Won’t stay here again. There was no breakfast even though it was advertised as having it. Our shower did not work properly, toilet seat was broken. Bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way.
