The location for kamway lodge is its biggest selling point - located 5 minutes walk from a major subway interchange makes getting to downtown manhatten a breeze. The rooms, whilst not luxurious, have adequate space, supply good bedding, have an en suite (in the tripple room), a balcony and are kept very warm in the winter. Can highly recommend this place to people looking for a less expensive option but still get a lot out of their time in NYC.

Stellar for the price. The woman at the front desk answered all of my questions and was extremely kind. Extremely walkable to public transportation. We had our own private bathroom and shower. There was even a—rather large—private deck attached to our room. We were only in the room to sleep and it met all of our needs. I would stay here again :) If cleanliness is a deal breaker for you, I would suggest elsewhere.

those staffs are quite friendly and ethical, and i met a few great roommates too, they all nice and polite. it would be better if there’s no cockroaches and ants in the middle of the night.

Bed was comfortable enough, shower was fine, location was close to a subway stop. Other than that... No elevator (heavy luggage would be an issue), no kitchen or utensils, windows didn't open. AC was provided, but there was nowhere to plug in both it and my travel adapter. Staff didn't seem to speak English.

Transportation was great, subway station is 2 minutes away by walking. La Guardia Airport transportation from and to the Roosevelt subway station is for free and takes about 15 minutes. I was asked to leave the room before the check out time with no reason. During the night some people talked really loud in front of my door. I think the price/service is balanced. It is not for everyone, if you are using the hostel just for sleeping is a good option.

Kamway lodge is reasonable for its price in a convenient area. My stay here was pretty convenient with hassle-free check-in. However, I hope the lodge could do better in terms of maintenance and cleaning. The hallway and my room has smells of marijuana residue and the AC, tables, the screen of the TV is covered with sticky substances. I have to wipe them myself and spray some Air Freshener to clear the odor. Overall a nice place stay for a short period but just sth to improve on. The cleaning staff I met is a Spanish speaker only, but she is so friendly and helpful. Kudos to her.

I was DREADING coming here because of the comments... but thankfully because of it, I was hoping for the worst lol and I didn't see half as what I read. yes it is not the ABSOLUTE cleanest but we felt safe and we got our own room and nothing bad happened to us. loved that it was close to all transportation. you don't hear the train. the heat worked...like it was all good. don't expect hotel stuff, its a hostal, bring your own things, be prepared and go enjoy yourself! I would def come back because everything went well and you are barely in your room anyway :)

Checks lots of boxes.

Lots of room between the beds. You weren't on top of each other. Super clean and really nice bathroom. Close to shop, food carts, metro. You can get a free bus from laguardia airport.

If you really need to stay locally it may be okay

This was an airport stop over, so pleased we only spent 5 hours there. It felt like it needed doing up drastically and a good deep clean needed. The guy on the front desk was lovely though and went above and beyond what we expected
