The reopened Plaza is still luxurious, but lacks some of the features of prior version. Entry is no longer available from Central Park South (59th), the Oak Bar is gone, there is no longer a proper restaurant or proper bar, just two large areas for light meals and drinks, one of which is the old Palm Court. Rooms reflect the age of the property: decent size, plenty of storage, but also a single sink bath and dim lighting.

We had a fantastic stay at The Plaza and felt truly looked after from the very beginning. Before our arrival, the hotel had already asked for the names of our two sons, which immediately showed a remarkable level of care and attention. For our younger son’s birthday, without us asking for anything, they surprised us with the giant Home Alone-inspired ice cream, which was such a special and unforgettable gesture. They had also brought both of our boys chocolates and candy with charming Home Alone references, and they were thrilled. The service throughout our stay was outstanding. Housekeeping was incredibly attentive and even checked in more than once a day to see whether we wanted the beds refreshed. Every member of the staff we interacted with was courteous, professional, warm, and clearly very well trained. We also ate several times at the lobby restaurant and found it very convenient and enjoyable. It feels elegant without being overly formal, which made it especially comfortable for our family. And of course, Palm Court was absolutely beautiful. The setting is stunning, and the table service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We are very grateful for such a memorable stay and would be very happy to return.

Location, suite was amazing! Wish they had more restaurants to choose from on the property. We also didn’t get a chance to do the tea spot because it was booked for over a week. I found out later because staff didn’t mention this but our suite had priority and we could have gone in. We also had a butler but we didn’t see him again after checking us into hotel. Overall it was very luxurious and great food for what they had.
