"Great location, nice old building with original wood trim and features. The double room was pretty tight for 2 people -- barely room for 1 suitcase to open. The AC was NOT functional and the light switches were weird-- master switch had to be on to get others to work, so we ended up leaving some lights on most of the time. The fan that they provided was very helpful but we slept with the balcony door open due to the heat. It was surprisingly quiet for the middle of a huge city until early morning. The Rue Daguerre nearby is fun with lots of good markets and restaurants."

"The hotel is conveniently situated to get metro or busses around the city. The room was nice and the sofa beds for the kids were a good size. There is a water cooler on each floor which was brilliant. I would have given it 5 stars except for: The big downside was the heat. We went in a heatwave and the air conditioning was broken so our room was an oven. It was uncomfortable to sit in and difficult to sleep in when we really needed an escape from the heat. The staff did provide a fan which helped but there was a suspiciously large cupboard of fans so I do wonder if it breaks often when it's hot."

"Rooms were tiny but that is to be expected in Paris. They were, however, very clean which is most important. We had issues with our toilet- it ran for hours at a time which was quite annoying. The bed also had springs coming up from it which was also a bit annoying. The other downside to the room was the shower. You could not go more than 4 minutes without it completely clogging snd overflowing onto the bathroom floor ( and ultimately into the room itself). Location was great though. Not sure it was worth $500 a night though given the issues we had with the room."
