Hotel located in quite place but we could walk to everywhere, also the railways station that not far from hotel, then you can use the train to transfer to the tourist attractions that so convenient. "This was a perfect place to experience Japan. It had traditional Japanese accomodations and food but also with many high tech conveniences. The staff was very helpful in getting us taxis to easily visit locations like the imperial palace or the Bamboo Forest. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a great experience in Kyoto. "

"Super useful to have laundry inside the room. Spacious bed + walkable areas in the room, and the whole hotel has a chic retro vibe. The lobby, like most small Japanese hotels, is minimally sized but has free drinks and a small dining area for hotel guests. Front desk is super helpful with local recommendations, booking restaurants, transportation, etc. and they are always friendly as if they own the place. It's conveniently located near a train station (Karasuma Oike). Perfect for families...

"The lounge is great with free snacks and drinks and games. The breakfast was also quite good. The staff was nice as well. Our room didn't have a view, but was spacious with a nice bathroom. It's a ten minute drive from the train station, lots of good restaurants close by."

"Instructions unclear about accessing property. We took a cab from kyoto station to the property where we had no access to enter. Apparently you need to go to an office near kyoto station before you are allowed into the property. Once there the staff did coordinate travel to the property. The property location was nice with many restaurants and shops with a 15-20 minute walk. Property was very nice with clothes washer and a way to dry the clothes as well as Instructions for how everything worked...

"LOVED staying at this MIMARU in Kyoto! Location was great (about an 8 minute walk to the subway and right next to a family mart and even a grocery store 5 minute walk away). Front desk was very helpful and courteous, room was spacious and clean. We were traveling as a family of four with two boys, ages 10 and 13, and we have already recommended this hotel to friends entertaining the idea of a Japan vacation!"
