"It was our family’s first time staying at a machiya. It was an easy place to find upon arrival in Kyoto. The house was lovely. The tea ceremony at check-in along with the Japanese sweets were much appreciated. They were able to help us arrange for delivery of our luggage onwards to our next city. "The Single Room has adequate space for one single traveler. The room is clean, quiet and the bed is comfortable. If anything, I would say the lighting of the room is a bit too dark for me.
For art lovers, the bonus is that this is not your typical hotel with artwork collections; the lobby is an art gallery for real. I was pleasantly surprised to be invited to an exhibition opening cocktail party during my stay.

The room was clean and as expected a bit small but LARGE for Japan . The only thing that I would change is Chairs and table to stay in the room are extra from my POV
I would have remove a chair and a table and just leave the night stand and a chair to have a bit more of room for luggage
But Everything was just perfect "

"New hotel, clean and great location. Hotel located in quite place but we could walk to everywhere, also the railways station that not far from hotel, then you can use the train to transfer to the tourist attractions that so convenient.
Front desk always greeting us with warm welcome and smile. They really take care all deatils of the guest. So appreciated and for sure we would love to stay here again.

"We stayed in Tokyo and Osaka prior to our stay here in Kyoto at Maeniiya Machiya Inn. Maeniiya Machiya Inn is a definite great place to stay and close to everything.
Akemi (property owner) is a wealth of knowledge and gave a lot of tips and recommendations. Be sure to visit Sukemasa for dinner if you like Gyoza. It is very close and yummy for 1000yen!
