Dirty side tables and glasses with fingerprints and lipstick on them. Worse than that, though, was that the promise of 24-hour front desk service was false.
At check-in, we were told that the front desk would not be staffed after 22:00, but that if we needed anything, we could use the front doorbell, and someone would answer right away. On the final night of our stay, we came back from dinner around 23:00. We used our keycards to access the front hall with no trouble. After climbing the multiple flights of steep stairs to our room, we could not access our room. The door that leads to it is used to access 2 rooms. We could not turn the handle, and our keycards did not work. We knocked, but our neighbours would not open the door.
We sent messages to as many places as we could, and got no answers.
Finally, we found a nearby Chapter Hotel where there was someone at reception. We explained the situation and he said he would use his master key to let us in.
We finally got into our room about an hour after we first tried.
At check-out the day after, the man at reception tried to insist that there is 24-hour coverage. We told him that this is false. Either he did not understand what we said, or he didn’t care. Possibly both.
We will never return to this hotel and we would never recommend it to anyone.
