"The location was excellent just a short walk to Moto-Hakone and nearby restaurants. The walk back uphill is definitely doable, but I’d recommend taking a taxi, especially after a long day out. "The property is very good for the authentic experience. A bit older but still modern (washrooms could be upgraded). It's really for the onsen experience and the food. A true spa resort! We went and it was early spring and rainy so less to do around the area."

"The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful. Our private onsen was something out of a movie. And it’s a superb place for kids — many fun little treats everywhere. Very much recommend. However, if your kid is an adventurous eater, make sure they do not serve them the kids meal Kaiseki. It is definitely subpar fast food level. Pre-order the adult version because you can’t change on the spot."
