"This is the second time we stay at Antera, and there will likely be a third time too. The hotel is really pretty, clean, with amazing staff. The location cannot be beat and I would not only recommend staying here, I plan to visit again myself."

"My experience at Riu Palace Riviera Maya was extremely disappointing and did not meet expectations. The food quality was consistently poor. Most meals were bland or unappetizing, and we found ourselves skipping meals throughout our stay. Breakfast was the only acceptable option, though still average. We upgraded to the “Elite” level expecting an enhanced experience; however, the only noticeable benefit was access to higher-quality liquor. The designated “Elite” pool lacked food service, entertainment, and overall atmosphere, while the standard pool offered a much more engaging experience. This discrepancy made the upgrade feel unjustified. The beach conditions were also subpar, with significant amounts of seaweed that appeared to be minimally maintained by the resort. Additionally, pricing and service issues further impacted our stay. When inquiring about extending one night, we were quoted $1,000—equivalent to the cost of our five-night stay. After booking externally, a minor reservation error (one guest instead of two) resulted in a proposed $600 charge to add a second person. Resolving this took approximately four hours. During this time, front desk staff displayed unprofessional behavior, including laughing and pointing, which was inappropriate. Overall, this resort did not provide the quality or service expected. I would not recommend staying here."

"I dont really want to share this for fear that it wont be available next time i come (I stay here a lot) but for the price and the pool on the roof, the staff, the cleanliness, and the balcony you just cant do any better than Sofia!"

"We recently stayed 5 night's. We had private transfer from airport thru mts which i highly recommended so you dont have to wait for others. Check in we were upsold to a swimout by the ocean. Do not do that. In the photo they showed us, it showed a cabana in front of your room but it was like the land of broken cabanas that sat in front of your ocean view and were stacked 2 deep. Would have never upgraded if had known that. Would have stayed with our original swimout. Also ( not the hotels fault) the sargassum all collected right in front of our view. So stay away from these swimouts. Our butler was amazing. We had 2 during our stay and they did great. Room service was great. Cleaning staff was awesome. Definitely recommend the spa. Food was okay but didnt like that the " best" options/ restaurants you had to pay extra for. Was told few years ago the " best" options/ restaurants were included. The pool and activities were a great time. The best thing is walking playa del carmen. That was an absolute blast. If trying to be sold a different room just ask to see it first. "

"I’ve stayed at Hyatt Vivid (next door) and I thought it was great. While walking at the beach, looking at Devossion by Live Aqua, it didn’t seem too attractive. However, this time we decided to give at chance. By just simply walking in into Devossion (front entry) it takes your breath away. The view of the ocean from the front desk (checking in) is AMAZING!!!!! I felt in love at first sight with this resort. The views, the restaurants, the ambiance, their customer service…. Everything that you need to relax. I will definitely be back and strongly recommend. The views from the hotel from any angle, is AMAZING… lets not forget the views during the night, FANTASTIC!"

"It is a beautiful hotel! There is no property around it to go for a stroll on property! I know the water of the ocean is rising so there is very little ocean beach!"

"I was pleasantly pleased with the condition of the property. There were workers constantly cleaning the rooms and the grounds and pool area. We had an ocean front room which has the most beautiful view possible. The breakfast was really good with the option of fried eggs, Mexican eggs, pancakes or French toast. You also get either a fresh fruit plate or orange juice (fresh squeezed and delicious!). We'd get both and share ;). All of the breakfast options were delicious! This is a public beach so there are a lot of locals that use the beach and it can get a little loud at night. I'm sure the rooms not on the ocean are quieter. We rented bikes for the week for $45 each which we used quite a bit to go to restaurants that were past what we were willing to walk to. There are dedicated bike paths which make it really nice. It's a great way to see more of PDC as well. I would most certainly book here if coming back!"

"Honestly, it was a bad experience. I booked two rooms, but they were assigned on different floors, and due to hotel policy, the key cards did not allow access to other floors. The first night was a mess during check-in. The staff showed a lack of acknowledgment, and the keys were constantly malfunctioning, sending us back to the front desk multiple times to have them reprogrammed. 😞"
