This is a great hotel stay if you are looking to be out in the city and not spending time in your room. It was perfect for our small travel group and the location was amazing. The prices were GREAT so I have no complaints abt cleanliness etc. Like many other comments say you get what you pay for! Totally recommend.

Stayed in NYC for a couple of days and this was the perfect hotel for us. We are both students traveling on a budget and our stay was fantastic. If you’re going to be out the majority of the day, I’d completely recommend staying here. The staff were very nice, the rooms were clean, and we had hot water and a heater for the cold winter time. It is also in a great location!

This property was definitely no frills. There was no fridge, microwave, phone, or TV in the room, but I think cost reflected that. The bathroom was nice, and the windows were beautiful and had a nice view of the street below. There is no elevator, but it was a fun walk up the stairs for us, and they were super helpful in carrying our bags upstairs. Perfect for our stay in NYC over the holidays (3 college girls). The area felt very safe and was very close to public transit, and there was plenty nearby to do and see in the East Village. Ray's Pizza on the corner is 24 hours which was a lifesaver on Christmas, and the front desk uncle at St. Marks was super kind and knowledgeable about the area and things to see around NYC. Great place to stay if you just need somewhere to sleep and want somewhere central to transportation.

Cash only. Missing smoke detector. Water constantly dripping from the shower handle. Tiny TV with like 4 channels. You can watch Dog the Bounty Hunter in the morning, if you want. Really though, this is not the kind of place you book for a trip, it's the kind of place you book for a single night if you meet somebody on a night out & don't have a place to go. It's the best price you'll find in the area, probably because it's cash only, but it's got no illusions about what it is. And the area is fantastic, so I'd recommend it if you know what you're getting into and only need a bed to sleep in. Despite all the fallbacks, the only thing that actually bothered me was the massive cockroach in the sink on my last morning there. Everything else is acceptable for what it is.

During our stay (2) staff was friendly and accommodating, you pay cash at property and they have a room to keep your luggage while waiting for check in, they also have super cute post cards for you!
