The room and onsen were amazing but the thing that takes it to the next level is the service. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The attenton to detail is amazing and the half board was an experience in itself
I can not rave about this hotel enough. if you want a traditional experience and a calm quiet get away this is the place

This was a beautiful property and the room with a private onsen was perfect. However, for almost $600 per night, Iâd expect a 5 star experience. The dinner and breakfast were just okay, we were able to get a drop off to the nearby museum, but not picked-up, and overall the stay was great, but not worth such a high price point. This hotel should be in the $300-400 range at most.
Impeccable service, great room with fantastic reviews and a solid and healthy dinner and breakfast.

Top notch room and amenities, food served for both dinner and breakfast were amazing. Level of overall service was exceptional. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely come back.
Very attentive, helpful, and nice staff. They are able to help with whatever request you may have. The room is spacious, clean, and beautiful. The private onsen as part of the room was the highlight. We had great views of the mountain and during sunset and sunrise it was just an unbelievable sight. Dinner and breakfast were both amazing, delicious and one of the best meals we had on our trip
The whole experience was magical - the private onsen with the sunrise view, the public onsen atmosphere, the meals were so good, the staff super friendly, and our room (again with our private onsen) was amazing. So clean and the design was great/spacious. Also, great music selection in the lounge area.
My wife and I loved our stay here. The in room onsen, massage services, and skin care products had us feeling rejuvenated. The staff are accommodating and incredibly good at what they do. Iâd recommend this stay to anyone coming to Hakone.

Everything about the stay here was exceptional. Staff were incredibly well mannered and couldn't do enough to help us. We were able to get a pick up from Gora station to the hotel, and found it to be an easy experience.
Absolutely incredible from start to finish! Every single staff member we dealt with went out of their way to make it a memorable stay, the room was beautiful, and the private onsen was such an incredible way to relax
This was honestly the greatest hotel Iâve ever stayed at. The service was exceptional, completely next level. The room was beautiful with such an amazing view of the mountains. The food was gorgeous and delicious. I would hands down recommend this hotel.
Our family of four stayed here in the suite. Experience was fantastic in every way.
Service was top notch from the moment you step foot until you leave.
Rooms were as expected; clean, comfortable beddings (both mattress and futon), and the view was picturesque.
Both private and public onsen was great. Not many people in the public onsen when I was there. Public onsen has outdoor portions which was nice environment.
Food was course meal for both dinner and breakfast. All delicious.
We didnât get to go up tot he mountain via the cable car but I understand that the access is right off of this property.
We would definitely recommend this place if you need full relaxation and tranquility.
My stay at Gora Hanaougi was exceptional, hands down the best hotel experience of my life. The hospitality was incredible from start to finish, and the property itself feels beautifully tucked away in the hills of Hakone but really easy to access via the cable car and private elevator. The full kaiseki dinner was outstanding, every course was thoughtful and delicious, and the traditional breakfast was just as impressive. I stayed in the suite which had an incredible view, and it was perfect: peaceful, spacious, and designed for pure relaxation. An unforgettable experience.
This is an extraordinary place. The attention to detail is stunning. The staff excellent. The facilities, such as the onsen, and certainly the rooms leave nothing to be desired. And all with great taste and discretion. Even with all this excellences, the kitchen stands out, delivering perhaps the most perfect meals i have ever experienced. And I've experienced a few. A completely wonderful Ryokan.
The impeccable service, the warmth and kindness, the helpfulness, the incredible food, the serenity, the comfort of the room⊠What else is there to say? I would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone. So glad we booked two nights, should have done a third. Thank you to the entire staff.
Amazing view and location with its own elevator to the ropeway and cable car station. Over the top service. Book the private Onsean and definitely do the dinner for an authentic traditional Japanese meal.
