This property was simply dreamy. Shrouded in beautiful Autumn foliage and appointed with traditional Japanese accommodations (slippers specific to the toilet room, main room and patio each), it felt like quiet, authentic luxury. The breakfast is vast with Japanese options and sufficient western options like fruits, breads and meats.
The place felt like a dream! From the outfit you wear throughout your stay to the hot springs outside that made you feel free. The staff was incredibly friendly and I’d recommend it for anyone.
What an incredible and luxurious stay. Everything was spotless and well thought out. Our private onsen was amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Liked: Staff & service
We stayed two nights at the property and overall the experience was good, but nothing overwhelming and also not a traditional ryokan experience.
The onsen is very basic and fixed evening meal felt the same over the two nights with western fusion theme (note that it is not a Kaiseki meal, so it can be interpreted as being slightly expensive). Breakfast had a good variety.
Shuttle bus was helpful but book in advance as slots can go quickly.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
We had an amazing stay. Staff is super friendly, the room was incredible confortable, clean, with all the necessary amenities and we very much enjoyed the private onsen at the room. They offer free shuttle services to Gora Station.
The staff were great and the room was mostly good. The showers heads aren’t maintained and when you turn them on they spray all directions except where you want them to go. It’s a simple fix that requires pushing the nozzles and clearing debris from them. It’s just a small step that when you’re paying a premium for a high end space you don’t expect to be overlooked. Other than that it was great.
The private oneen on the terrace was great as well as the size of the room and cleanliness. The food was disappointing though and not worth the price, and the hotel itself was a bit hard to get to. The free shuttle bus they offer also doesn’t take you to anywhere useful. Overall, it was good for one to two nights, but I wouldn’t stay any longer.
We really enjoyed this hotel. It was very well appointed and had everything we needed. There was even a private onsen off the shower room. The hotel was very accommodating with a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off. It was a great experience. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
It was a really nice experience. It was great that we had to take our shoes off at the entrance it really sets the vibe tha this is a true Ryokan. The room was super clean and well thought out. The facilities overall were excellent as well. Onsen was super clean and the Yukatas that they provided were fun and comfortable to wear during our stay.
We nooked 3 rooms with private onsen for our family trip. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The bed and pillows were a bit hard for my taste, but we were so relaxed after the bath that we slept well.
The included dinner was amazing with delicious, beautifully presented plates. The morning breakfast was buffet style with a variety of foods to choose.
Many of the staff spoke English and they were all accommodating and friendly
The hotel room is comfort and our stay here is very happy.
Just a recommendation, you may provide photo illustrate here to tell the wating area for the shuttle in the booking website also.
The private onsen was phenomenal and the room/bed was so spacious and comfortable. We chose a room in the separate building, not the main one. I’m glad we did because the main building required shoes off and all luggage had to be wiped before entering because the entire place is lined with tatami mats. Minor inconvenience but I prefer not to have to take my shoes off everytime. The dinner was delicious and so was the buffet breakfast. They were also very accommodating with my dietary restrictions for the dinner set menu. The view from the restaurant was so beautiful too.
Our stay at Laforet was excellent and we wish we had stayed longer! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and our room was gorgeous. We will be back!
