"The hotel is a wonderful old building that has been lovingly maintained. Our room was fine, everything was clean, tidy and worked and we got what we paid for. The restaurant was excellent. It had grandeur, it was flooded with light, offered views over the Tay, drink and food options were very good and reasonably priced. While there was no car park, one across the road offered reasonable rates and was convenient. The Discovery and V&A are a 5 min walk and are excellent. Why not a 5* rating? Like...

"I was upgraded to a castle view room upon my arrival which was really nice. Reception staff were very friendly and allowed me an early check in as my room was ready. The beds were comfy and breakfast was very good. The only thing was that there was a bit of toothpaste not cleaned off the sink (it was behind the taps so I could see how it could be missed) and a shower cap was still hanging on the back of the bathroom door. "Great location. Room was clean, but on the small side. Interesting bathroom, but was clean and worked fine. Staff was helpful. They stored bags for me until I could check in. There was a restaurant and bar. It looked ok, but I neither ate nor drank there, too many options near by. The lobby was pretty drab. The entrance was almost unnoticeable. Good value considering the location "
