"We had 3 fantastic stays at the Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa. Very service minded staff that took good care of us from arriving to checkout. Room was spacious, nice and comfortable - and the hotel has a small rooftop terrace. Area is quiet and nice, but with a selection of amazing small restaurants close by. We will stay here again when we visit Kyoto. "
"This place is just amazing in every way. The view from our room overlooking the kamo river is very picturesque. The layout of the room is very well designed and the room is huge and tastefully decorated. The location is close to the subway and minimarts. Love the microwave, the 2 televisions, and the washing machine.

"Could not be happier about my 2 days stay at Rakucho ryokan. The room was perfect: clean, quiet, the futon super confortable and the showers/toilets clean and surprisingly quite modern.
The host was very welcoming and offered really great suggestions for my stay. The small bike rental shop he suggested (“Bike laboratory”) really made my trip to Kyoto a memorable one.
I arrived earlier than check in time, but was able to leave my luggage in a locker in the close by subway station and took this...
"Quite a unique experience with traditional Japanese furniture and room layout. The owner clearly put a lot of thoughts in building out this hotel by integrating modern appliances into traditional Japanese house architecture. Beautifully decorated garden. Staff were super helpful."
"Lovely quiet hotel. Very polite and welcoming staff. We were fortunate to avoid (arriving on a Saturday and leaving Monday) the apparent excavations going on to the west and north side of the hotel of some recently discovered artifacts. Wonderful complimentary cocktail and appetizers in the evening. Laundry floor. Smallish but clean quiet rooms and hallways at night and in the mornings. Would stay again. "
