Couldn't get to hotel due to strike. Hotel refused to refund money. Holiday Inn Express' reason for no refund was due to reservation policy. I called the hotel directly within the reservation policy time limit, but I was told the manager refused to talk to me because we booked through Expedia. Expedia attempted to talk to them, but it was THE NEXT DAY, after the time limit, when Expedia was finally able to talk to someone. This was nothing but greedy and unfair. All trains in and around Paris were shut down and our flight from CDG was cancelled. Due to the strikes and airline cancellations, I'm absolutely certain this hotel sold our room, effectively making twice the money. I will NOT be using Holiday Inn, or any of their subsidiaries, ever again. Fully intend to contact my corporate travel agent and let them know to avoid Holiday Inn as well. I had better expectations of Holiday Inn, boy was I wrong.
