Superbly located a short stroll away from Eurostar / Gare du Nord. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was good if a little understaffed. The room was clean - however it was dated, peeling ceiling paint in the bathroom and could do with a lick of paint. This is a basic hotel so don't expect much in glamour. Functional and friendly is the best way to summarise this convenient hotel in Paris.

When you book a 3 star hotel in Paris, you never really know what you are going to get. The Avalon is exactly what you should expect. Very clean, friendly staff, easy check in and out, comfortable bed, good location. But not big rooms, a bit dated and certainly not fancy. I will certainly return.

Great spot! We arrived late at the end of a crisis of lost luggage and other problems. The staff helped us with toothbrushes and other things. There is street construction around the hotel but there were earplugs on the nightstand waiting so we had no problems.

The location was very convenient to the Gare du Nord and other handy places - a small grocery, a pharmacy, a couple of good restaurants. A bit sketchy at night, perhaps, but not scary. A good value overall. The beds were comfortable and clean, towels were good and plentiful. Nothing fancy, but since we were only there to shower and sleep, it was just fine. The blow dryer fixed to the wall in the in the bathroom was broken, but they were able to find us one we could use instead. A little inconvenient, but usable.

Definitely three star. Bit disappointed as photos looked better than the real thing. Doors were scratched and bathroom was in definite need of a revamp. It was booked a bit last minute and definitely would not go back and breakfast was very poor. The location was very good …shame it just needs money invested in it.

The hotel is good, but keep in mind it’s an old French building so NOIsY. The staff is very friendly. The beakfast was also good and at a good price. The area tho is a bit sketchy ( Paris north) but as soon as you walk 5 min south, the area is gorgeous!
