"The food was very good. Hotel is very aesthetically pleasing. I rated helpfulness of staff low because majority did not speak English hence unable to help. In addition they failed to make an explain to people that come to the resort that the people who sell excursions by the beach are not affiliated with them. I was scammed out of $110 by one of these beach sellers. His name is Claudio and his phone number I communicated with him on was +1 (849) 210-5585. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. when I talked to staff about this all they could tell me was that the beach is public place so these people are legally allowed to sell there. I didn’t realize that people can commit fraud in front of your property and you could not do anything about it. I guess that’s the difference between America and these other countries."

"I recently stayed at Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana and had mixed feelings about my experience. The resort itself was beautiful, and I generally enjoyed my vacation. The property was well-maintained, the atmosphere was relaxing, and many of the staff members I encountered during my stay were courteous and professional. Unfortunately, my experience took a very negative turn after I returned home. Upon reviewing my bank account, I discovered charges from the resort that I did not understand and that significantly exceeded what I expected. When I contacted customer service for assistance, I was unable to get immediate help resolving the issue. I was referred from one department to another, and during one of my calls, the conversation was disconnected without any follow-up. The hotel later informed me that one of the charges related to wine consumed during my stay and provided an explanation regarding the currency conversion. However, despite my follow-up communications, I did not receive a timely response to my concerns or the documentation I requested. As a guest, I expected clearer communication regarding any charges posted to my account and a more responsive approach when a billing dispute was raised. The situation became especially stressful because the charges affected the available funds in my bank account and created financial hardship upon my return home. No guest wants to spend time after a vacation trying to resolve unexpected billing issues."

"Bad attention, there was a lack of work staff, if you want to eat in a restaurant you have to queue for 3 hours because it is on a first-come, first-served basis but when you arrive at 5:30 there is no one and they tell you that they are full until 7:30 or 8, there are always more than two restaurants closed, so that they transport you inside the hotel they pass you by empty and tell you that they are going to pick up someone, I stayed 5 days and still does not pass the one who puts the things in the fridge in the room I left 20 dollars and picked them up when I left, the ice cream one in the ice cream shop every time I went with the children was never there and you had to wait for it to appear, if they see that you are Latino people pass in front of you like it is hard for them to serve you you notice it on their faces but when you give them 10 dollars of tip the matter changes, in the places we booked we never appeared on any list and they always left us for the end being the first to arrive. I love the Dominican Republic and its hotels. This trip was unlucky. It was my badest experience."
