"This place was cool, and had an emphasis on Americanism, with President roooms including a JFK room. It was really nice to experience! We noticed lot of school kids stayed in the hotel, probably for the American historical context, or that it was just right by one of the main train stops. Either way, the people in this area are all so nice and friendly, way more thab the big city of Tokyo. Genuinely enjoyed our stay around this place, and there's a ton of food options nearby, including a giant...
"Probobly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Area is incredibly beautiful as well. Make sure to have lunch at the information center next to the train station. "
"Beautiful area, amazing food, the hot springs out in nature are great. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the whole experience is amazing. Worth it even if it's just one night."
"I stayed at the Chaya house which was absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and a joy to speak with. Otsu is a smaller quiet town with lots of character and friendly residents. I highly recommend checking out the local Izakayas and cafes for an equally excellent experience."

"Great location and very nice rooms. The only minor complaint I have is that the rooms air-conditioning can not be adjusted. We got uncomfortably warm at night. Ot wad gine during the day."
"This was our favorite hotel of our stay. Black out curtains were the best we had ever seen. Hotel was clean, very upscale and we loved everything about it. Would highly recommend it. "
"Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Hotel offers free shuttle from and to hotel to train station every 20 minutes which makes it extremely convenient for public transportation. Our room has 3 beds and it is a good room size. They also offer two breakfast options: Japanese breakfast meal set of American breakfast buffet. I personally don’t think it is the best breakfast either option but if you like not to worry about looking for breakfast places, it is the way to go. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kyoto. "
"We would stay in this hotel again in the future. They have all the toiletries that you would need and are extremely hospitable and friendly. The hotel is tucked in a more quiet neighborhood but is very close to public transportation (~5 min walk). There is also a convenience store nearby. Overall, it is great for families and those wanting a more relaxed yet clean place to rest after walking all day!"
