"My husband and I stayed in G Hotel Kelawai for a total of 3 nights in the Premier Room, and we had a good experience overall. The staff were fantastic, and our gripes were to do with design features in the hotel which the service staff had little to no control over. Pros: - The room was very clean, and overall cleanliness in the public areas was great as well - The bathroom in the Premier Room was spacious and comfortable - Although we only had 2 canned drinks from the complimentary minibar, the free bottled water and anything complimentary is always appreciated. - The buffet breakfast selection on Level 2 was pretty good, covering western and Asian cuisines, as well as having a live station. Food options also changed from day to day. - Gravity, the rooftop bar, was great. Loved the light-up menus! Cons: - Whilst the curtains are of block-out fabric, there is a huge gap between the curtain and the frame of the window, so sunlight would stream into the room like a laser beam every morning and wake us up much earlier than we wanted to - The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were not. It took requests for 3 different types of pillows to finally land on a marginally acceptable one. (But Priya from Reservations was very nice about it) - We had the corner room but the walls were quite thin so we kept hearing the door slamming in the room next to ours. - For such a big bathroom, it would have been much better and more convenient to have double sinks, a"

"Very well located and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. I had enjoyed the live music with a great band. But the mattress was terribly firm. Gave me back pains in the morning. We had buffet dinner on a Friday night and the food was sub standard. The smoked salmon did not look very fresh. The chendol was terrible and the fried chicken was over done. The next night we had rib eye and it was overdone even though we had asked for medium rare. The bathroom needs to be upgraded to a walk in bathroom. But it is still good value for the price."

"Feel very welcomed. Awesome staffs from front desk to breakfast room to housekeeping. TV and the kettle didn’t work on first night and they sent electrician the next morning to get it fixed. They also gave us a plate of fruits for our trouble. Small gestures but made us felt valued. Room was very nice, bed and pillows so comfortable and shower was wonderful. The gym was slightly underwhelming thought it would have more equipments. Breakfast was nice with lots of choices. Slightly disappointed with the location. I imagined it to be right in town with lots of shops and eating places but Gurney Drive was not what I remembered fifty years ago!!! Probably better off staying in the heritage area of George Town. But it is fairly easy to get Grab and reasonably priced too. Dont go to Bali Seafood nearby, it is expensive and mediocre, I don’t understand how it get Michelin award at all!!!"

"The hotel rooms are big. Although it's not in the latest decorations, the room and bathroom are clean and functional, bed was comfortable with clean linen, meets our needs. The location is excellent. The New Land hawker stalls are literally on the doorstep, we were able to take away the food and enjoy them in the comfort of the airconed hotel room. Many attractions in Georgetown are within walking distance. We will stay at Sunway if we visit Penang again."

"The heritage hotel is newly renovated, so as you’re welcomed you’ll see the space has been really nicely done and feels modern whilst also keeping the heritage of the original space. It’s in a pretty good location, with local street food around the corner and a short Grab to the centre of Penang. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities you should need, with room turnaround also available. They also offer laundry service (but much cheaper to get done in the centre). Generally we really liked this hotel as it was clean, comforting room but we found one thing strange - they asked us to remove our wet clothes and towels from the balcony area. They offered a solution to bring a rack up, but it never turned up so we had to let our clothes dry on the balcony floor. This was ultimately fine - I just felt this was very style over substance and why did it really matter we were drying our stuff? It also felt like we were being watched as when I went outside, a staff member was looking up to our balcony. I personally found this strange but I guess it’s their hotel policy. Overall though, this was a nice hotel and also offered decent drinks and food at a cost."

"Great location right by the ocean! You can enjoy the sunrise over the water from both the living room and the master bedroom. The property was very clean and had air conditioning units in every room. It looked exactly like the pictures and was very spacious for the three of us. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood, and the building has 24/7 security, so we felt very safe throughout our stay."
