"The rooms were basic and some bugs got in although we were careful, but the rooms were clean at least. The staff was wonderful. We enjoyed a New Year’s Eve dinner in the restaurant and had the free breakfast one day, it had a nice variety of options. The highlight was the hot springs area. It had a great vibe, very cool with lights and a swim up bar. The grounds were also gorgeous with the vegetation and we saw a few birds walking around too. I would stay again!"

"Highly recommend Villa Heliconia for location, amazing view of volcano, and access to nearby Los Lagos resort. The veranda and hot spring tub were amazing. Santiago was very responsive and arranged several tours for us (white water rafting; suspended bridges; zip lining). Tours picked up right at our villa but we still appreciated having a rental car. "I was not sure what to except in the small town of La Fortuna. The hotel offered a beautiful landscaped breathtaking scene of the volcan. Although while we were there it rained every day we did get a sneak peak one morning of the volcano. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable. The pool was used by the kids every day, even in the rain.
