"I have travelled a lot over 6 plus decades. Others were too generous in rating Windspire at "5.5." I would give it a "1.5", with overall rating between poor and terrible! Well below a student hostel. I was booked for 2 nights and forfeited the 2nd. You couldn't have paid me to stay longer! Communication with manager was terrible - no way of reaching him by phone (even cell) since no voicemail set up. So I froze through the night since A/C could not be adjusted in each individual room. "Good peaceful location next to St Peters Canal "swing bridge", a beautiful view of Bras d'Or Lake. Good dinner atmosphere with local artists performing in dining room four nights a week. A little old and worn in appearance, but comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful. The only negative was that the guest laundry (washer) was not working the entire time we stayed here."

"We arrived at the hotel and after checking in we went to the dining room, we were greeted by staff who were very friendly and made us feel like they had know us for a long time. Our food was wonderful and after dessert we made our way back to our room which was very comfortable, we had a wonderful sleep. Breakfast was delicious and was part of the room booking. Overall a great place to stay."
