"I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing and absolutely needs to be shared.
We were incredibly excited for our trip and specifically chose this hotel because of its proximity to Times Square. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked into our room, things went downhill fast. The room was extremely hot, and the AC was not working at all. We immediately called the front desk and were told an engineer would come take a look and that we didn’t need to wait in the room. We went out for a few hours, assuming it would be resolved.
When we returned, nothing had been fixed.
We called again and continued to get the same vague responses. Finally, at 9:30 PM, eight hours after check-in, someone came up, only to tell us the unit couldn’t be fixed and we would need to switch rooms. We then went down to speak with the manager on duty, Heath Cliff, who told us the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing he could do until the next day.
So we were expected to just deal with a 78-degree room overnight.
About an hour past and at that point, we asked for at least a fan. He personally told us he would bring one up before leaving his shift. That fan never came. We called again around midnight, and another staff member sent up a different engineer about 30 minutes later. She was the only competent and helpful person we encountered. Within minutes, she acknowledged the issue and got us moved to a new room, something we had just been told was impossible."
