Top Hakone Luxury Hotels

Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa
4.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (772)
"Lovely hotel, rooms and views. Very accommodating, for a price. Comparatively expensive for the other places we stayed in Japan, but they were excellent. Designed to be a resort, it is unnecessary to leave the property but they made everything in the area very easy to access. Common area and restaurants were very pleasant spaces to relax. "

4.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (50)
"This is a great hotel. It’s a lifetime experience. The staff was amazing. This hotel is THE definition for luxury and experience. Food was delicious , amenities like the hotspring tub in the bathroom, private hot spring areas, wide selection of alcohol/non alcoholic complimentary drinks in the room…. I can go on and on about the facilities available here . The staff will make you feel a king with their service and make sure you get their shiatsu massage. We stayed at many hotels in several...

Hakone Nanase
3.5 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (381)
"Such a nice place to relax and take a moment to enjoy where you are. Food was amazing and staff made you feel at home. Was one of my favourite places to stay. Bed was a little too hard for my partner but good for me. You wear your traditional Japanese pajamas throughout the hotel which added to feeling relaxed. I would recommend private onsen, I used it so much and so glad we opted for it."

Fujiya Hotel
Aura Tachibana
4.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (308)
"Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Staff was really polite and helpful. On site onsen was a bonus. My only criticism would be the room was too hot as it was a central control system for the whole hotel. Note it is an up hill walk to the hotel "

Laforet Hakone Gora Yunosumika
3.5 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (1002)
"There’s two buildings. The new building is all self check in meaning you have to scan the passport yourself. I personally found that annoying after paying quite a bit of money for the stay. After check in, no one tells you anything including where the dinner/breakfast is at or the public onsen is at. There’s a shuttle service to Gora but you have to reserve it way ahead of time. We messaged the hotel and got no response. We have two young kids with two luggages, and that was a bit of a...

2.5 star property

"This is a true"little (Japanese) hut in the mountains" with great onzen experience! You just have to embrace the whole experience. If you do, this is definitely 5 stars! If not, maybe look for a more westernized hotel instead. Just one caution, this mountain resort is up on a winding mountain road around .5-1km from bus stop "sengyoro mae". If you have heavy luggage, it's worth using baggage service at Hakone Yumoto station. I hauled it up the hard way and that was a sauna experience in itself,...
