"Great location. Very small room. No fridge or chair in room. Only clean room every other day. Lost power one day. Smoke alarm went off at 2:00 Am and went off and on for 2 hours. No I'm explanation. Staff was nice enough but offered no composition for the alarm. They were not caring that we were kept up by the alarm and lost of sleep, we were exhausted and crabby the next day for ksvk of sleep on our vacation."

"Our room was extremely dark! How do you pay for an upgraded king room and get zero natural light??? Weird! The location was great or what had planned or our stay, but the room was very disappointing! The staff "greeting" near the escalators on street level could be more helpful and friendly."

"The room was okay had all Basics necessities . The bed however was as hard as a brick and because I was the ground floor I had a door as my window and the blind wouldn’t pull down so I had light always shining in my room plus the police presence was horrendous always blue lights outside my door/window and people loitering around where if there wasn’t a blurred glass would be looking straight int my room. Staff were lovely pleasant but wouldn’t stay again due to uncomfortableness of the beds and lights outside my window etc."

"Very clean room. Location is incredible for access to central London - literally 5 mins walk to the tube station. The room was spacious but I was in the top floor which had very small windows so the room was quite dark. No issues if you’re not planning to spend a lot of time in your room. The bed was quite soft - just be aware if you like a firmer bed. Nice amenities in the room."

"Charming hotel in a historic building. The late Victorian building was once the headquarters of the British secret service and so has echoes of Sidney Reilly, Bruce Lockhart and Ian Fleming . It was also housed the U.S. Embassy and the Soviet Embassy (on different floors) during WWIi. Winston Churchill had an office in the Liberal Club, which shares the building with the hotel. Aside from atmosphere, the hotel has a friendly staff who are eager to do things for the guests. Whitehall Gardens lies in back of the hotel, giving it a pretty setting. Good views of the Embankment and the Thames from that side of the hotel. It is an older building and has some quirks. For example, the floor takes awhile to get used to. However, it is evident that considerable money has been spent to modernize both the rooms and the public areas. The location is great. It lies in the heart of Central London. The Houses of Parliament are a few steps in one direction and Trafalgar Square is a few steps in the other direction. Great for tourists and for those with business in political London. The hotel has several dining venues including an outdoor terrace overlooking Whitehall Gardens. Very nice buffet breakfast."
