"The hotel is tired and has an overwhelming smell of stale smoke in the hallways and bedrooms. Staff were friendly but miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping, meant that requests were missed or forgotten. Best bit of the hotel is the bar and outdoor terrace. The pool was lovely but the changing rooms were not. Definitely gives off conference vibes - would not stay there for pleasure."

"I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The hotel advertises that it has parking, but when we arrived, there was no parking available despite this being listed as an amenity. To make matters worse, we were initially given a room that had clearly not been cleaned. The bed had been slept in, the room was dirty, and it was obvious it hadn't been prepared for new guests. "The hotel itself is excellent - great location and architecture. The cool atmosphere and aircon were welcoming on the hottest June day ever recorded in Cardiff! The facilities were great - including bedroom, bar and pool / spa. A couple of disappointments though. Guaranteed check-in from 3p.m. We arrived at 2.15 so went to the bar to wait. "The hotel is in a great location for Cardiff Bay. Unfortunately, I stayed on the hottest days of the year. The room I was allocated on the ground floor did not have any windows that opened, and there seemed to be an aircon/heating unit that wasn’t working; fans were already in the room but didn’t help with the blistering heat and lack of ventilation. "We stayed at this hotel in order to visit the National Museum which is nearby. It is also close to Queen Street station. We enjoyed the overall ambience of the hotel and particularly liked the restaurant and the roof top bar. The staff of the restaurant/bar provided excellent service at dinner and breakfast.
