"This was absolutely my favorite. I can’t wait to bring my boys. The casita was like a tiki hut. The grounds were tropical jungle and the staffs were warm and welcoming. I have nothing negative about this hotel."
"We had a fantastic stay here! The owners run a proud family business. The property is beautiful. We came with 3 families — the rooms were set up perfectly for 4. We ate on site one night and the food was delicious.

"This is one of those hotels that you almost don't want to talk about for fear of it becoming too popular. The owners are very friendly and it feels like being a guest in a private home with staff to take care of everything for you."
"We weren't prepared for how remote this property is and the extended rainy season made it even more so with very poor road conditions. Be sure to stock up on EVERYTHING you'll need before going up there as a trip to any store or restaurant will be lengthy. We had to leave after staying only one of our two nights as we just didn't have enough food. There is a restaurant on the property which would have been a complete game changer but it wasn't open during our visit in mid-November. The times...
"The place was amazing. It was a few min drive to the beach. The monkey’s were right out the door. The place was nice and relaxing. It had a great kitchen to cook your food. we will be back "

"This was easily one of the best stays we’ve ever had. Café Playa Negra is everything a boutique hotel should be—warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully run. We were greeted like family and offered lime slush drinks that were pure bliss. Our room was spotless and beautiful, the meals were delicious, and the pool was a perfect escape.
Nixon was amazing—so kind and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly.
This place has heart. And by staying here, you’re supporting the real people of Playa Negra—not just a vacation rental owned by investors. We felt good knowing our visit made a positive impact. We’ll definitely be back."
"This is a great place in the forest about 25 minutes to some popular beaches. We loved exploring the area. The cabin was super clean and comfortable and the deck area is beautiful to have coffee while listening to the howley monkeys. The pool area is nicely set up for photo opps. The cherry on top is that they're pet friendly. We will stay again. "
"Latica lodge was amazing to stay at! If you’re looking for that community vibe then this should be on the top of your list. Everyone from all over the world staying there, all having breakfast/supper together was spectular. The owners are everyday people willing to help you out with everything they made the stay so enjoyable. It’s definitely off the beaten path, I would recommend having a 4x4 vehicle to tackle the roads getting there and getting around. There’s a couple amazing beaches (best we thought on the whole west coast) super close and they are all so different. Would highly recommend staying here! Pura vida!"
"We booked this place got there and the gate was locked. Try honking calling them but no response.
You shouldn’t be able to book if it’s already closed "

The times listed for drives to various beaches aren't incorrect or misleading, but I think would be challenging to accomplish. "
