Hôtel du Plat d'Etain

10/10 Excellent

"My wife and I chose this hotel based on reviews and the location, as our son lives in the neighborhood. What a fantastic choice we made. Every single member of the staff that we had contact with was kind, cordial and very helpful. The room we had was small (as expected) but was immaculately clean, the linens/towels/pillows were in excellent condition. The shower and bathroom were perfect. Great TV. Safe in the room was nice. When we booked we added daily breakfast and what a smart choice that was. Very good breakfast was served every morning. Lots of choices of pastries/breads/fruits/meats/yogurt/juices and a great coffee machine. The gentleman who worked in the breakfast area was particularly on top of things and very helpful. Oh, and the air conditioning....the 6 days were stayed there were very hot days. Most places (like almost none) have A/C. This motel does. It was an absolute game changer after to hot/sweaty day out seeing the sights, to come back to a clean, comfy, cool room was the perfect end of the day. Close to lots of restaurants (seems like everyplace in Paris is close to a lot of restaurants), close to Metro stops. Really a great location."

"We were a bit unlucky that we visited Paris at the height of a heatwave in May. With temperatures at 32C outside, our top floor flat was often 36C inside. We were glad of the portable AC unit and the fans. Still, the flat was very very warm. I would not stay here in the summer. The flat is SMALL. We knew this when we booked, but the mezzanine bedroom has barely enough space for adult to crawl on all-fours. We didn't mind too much, but be aware that this is indeed tiny. The downstairs portion of the flat was excellent. Lots of clever storage for keeping things out of the way. Was lovely to have a little kitchen area for coffee in the mornings. But I wouldn't cook an entire meal here, especially in the heat! We loved being right in middle of Le Marais. The green courtyards were a lovely respite from the busy city. We felt very safe in this room, and there was no loud city noise to speak of. I would stay here again in Spring/Autumn. But, like most of Europe, not set up for the increasingly warm summers."

"This was a great hotel in a good area of Paris. The hotel is a little bit dated, but the room was comfortable and the staff was so incredibly helpful and professional. The older man at the front desk was an absolute master of his craft and remembered my name and room from check in without fail. They also helped me out when I needed to grab breakfast a bit early one day. Really great staff."

"I stayed for 6 nights in May 2026. it is quite newly renovated but everything there are small but functional (very common in Paris). location is great and walkable to everything but kinda tucked away from all the noisy bars and night life of Marais. highlights: 1. Luggage locker: I loved their luggage locker made me feel safe. I didn’t lock my lock properly (my bad) and came back 6 hours later and luggage are still safe. 2. Elevator: it is tiny but i’m just grateful there is one after waking 25,000 steps a day in Paris. 3. there is no front desk or on site staff, which wasn’t an issue for me, never felt unsafe while staying there. 4. A/C: I stayed for 6 nights during paris heat wave, and extremely grateful about the strong central AC they have. 5. housekeeping: they do provide daily housecleaning. there is a french hot keeping guy who has been super friendly and helpful when I stay there on my solo trip. even though we had language barriers, the experience was very pleasant and he was very helpful. one thing to consider if you are sensitive to noise is that sound proofing of the room isn’t great. I can hear my neighbor get off their bed and every step walking in their room and their TV sound too. luckily most people staying here were out being tourists most of the day, so impact wasn’t too bad."
