Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The staff were very nice and the lounge area was very spacious. However I found it to be very hot in the dorm room whilst staying here, making it difficult to sleep. I also found the bed to be quite uncomfortable.
Location is nice for exploring Asakusa, Ryugoku and Ueno areas. I really loved how quiet the rooms are, its so important when you are tired all day and want to sleep good!
I loved them. Very kind and available people who helped anyone who needed it. While it wasn’t me, I saw that they helped someone get a new room within 10 minutes after finding out they had trouble with their roommates
My arrival was a bit messy, heard bedbugs were found in the dormatory I was supposed to sleep in D: But I got a full refund and they added a mattress in a breakroom, so I got to stay there free of charge for a few nights. The location was very nice!
We booked out a big room for our family - it had 5 beds, 2 toilets and a shower and so much space! It was excellent! Comfortable beds and even good pillows. The common room was nice and a small, but well equipped shared kitchen. A very pleasant stay and a good location close to train station and subway.
We stayed in the family room with four beds all on the same level. It was spacious and comfortable. There were three separate bathroom areas and all had sinks, which made it easy for a family of four to get ready. The common area with kitchen was well equipped and it is located near the train station, a small market and 7-11. There was also a great ramen shop nearby..
Stayed overnight. It was clean, the people were all very kind and welcoming, the facilities were great (laundry and dryer machines, and communal kitchen on the check-in floor), and the price is so reasonable! I stayed on the Women's only floor and it had a great privacy bunks (each their own light, shelf, charging port, black out/privacy curtains that go all around, and 2 wall hangers), the room had 3 sinks (one in the bathroom, shower room, and main room). I was a little bit confused getting there but there's adequate signage so if you're more observant than I, you'll be just fine! Would definitely recommend!
I booked this as a last minute plan, so my options were limited and was in a top bunk bed in a mixed dorm room.
Check-in was easy, the staff was nice. The entire place was so incredibly clean. The bed was comfortable, clean, and with a place to hang two things, plug in devices, and blackout curtains.
The curtains work so well to block light, they also block airflow. I had the air conditioning vent/fan literally at my bedside and I didn’t have air coming in and it got a bit warm and stuffy for my liking. I left my curtains open a bit to try and help that, but it didn’t do much good. I am a person who sleeps with a fan on year-round, so the lack of circulation may have bothered me more than it would bother most.
I ended up leaving after one night because it was inconvenient to me to not have a place to store my bags securely, or be able to easily access the contents of my bag due to lack of space in the room. I have only stayed in hostels in the past where there was a secure place to store your bags while away. The bags are all lined up within the room. Everyone did keep it neat, which was nice. Just not my preference of staying. There is a small safe type locker within the room available to keep anything of value in.
Other hostels I’ve stayed in have some kind of social hour or something. They did not. I always enjoy that to meet people more easily.
The kitchen was clean and simple. Available space to keep things in the fridge or cook. Curry/rice available for 1000y
One of the better hostels I’ve stayed at in Tokyo. The staff arent that friendly (especially the girls, the guys are still ok) but all the rest I would rate 5/5. Few minutes walk to both JR and Subway line. Good lounge spot to eat or work or just laze around. Enough space in dorm rooms. Luggage storage was great also. Would rebook.
