"The whole hotel is incredibly dirty and run down. There were hairs all over the bed and floors, stains on the walls, and peeling paint everywhere. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, and whilst orders arrived incorrectly each day at breakfast, the food was tasty. On the Thursday night, the music from the bar was so loud until midnight, that I slept with earphones in. This is definitely not at a 4* level, I suspect there are much better options around York."

"Lovely room and relaxing stay. The staff were all incredibly helpful and engaging. Only minors were that the toilet in our room was really high. First time I’ve ever sat in the loo and couldn’t touch the ground. Also, with no lifts it was a tough climb up narrow stairs to the top floor. I guess a learning for me to mention this when booking. But as I say, these are minor things and we loved the hotel and will return."
