Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei
Beautiful large room. Excellent staff in the Horizon Lounge. Great service in Li Bai and the lobby lounge. The international buffet at the Cafe was a bit of a bun fight with the locals, although the food itself was good.

Eastin Taipei Hotel
Clean room, helpful staff, Bank of Taiwan was just around the corner, no trouble using the wifi on phone. There is an underground mall exit right in front of the hotel (Exit 11) that connects to the blue line MRT, but it doesn't have escalator/elevator. We used it to get around when it rained. Be ready for booking number upon check-in, which threw us off since not one hotel ever asks for that anymore.
