"If you like old, quaint and quirky then this is the place for you. The proximity to the Loire is unbeatable with beautiful views and walks along the riverside. The room we had (402) was huge but accessed by a very tight and steep staircase. An interesting style of furnishings but the bed was comfy with good linen. The bathroom was also spacious but some DIY to the fixings would help. The evening meal is served by restauranteurs who are not involved with the accommodation. The food was tasty...

"The check-in process; it requires you to access to the internet (WiFi) or strong mobile phone signals in order to activate the digital keys (to open the gate & your room). My phone has very weak signals and unable to open the link to the hotel website for directions/instructions to the digital keys .... To make the matter worse; the hotel only sends you the above inf. at 16:00 on the date of your arrival and no sooner; in my case, by the luck of the draw, they forgot to send it to me on time. ...

"I love Novotel hotels, but this one was disappointing. The 'superior' room felt cramped and gloomy. The two single beds were hard and uncomfortable. I just didn't like it. Parking is very limited underneath the hotel and good luck finding it as you need to come into a pedestrianized area and ring for bollards to be lowered. On the upside staff were fabulous."
