This hotel was such a great stay! We enjoyed the food, the helpful staff, the spa, the pool, and the view from the beach. The travel staff was helpful in booking an excursion that would be fun with the weather (intermittent rain) and it was easy to make dinner reservations each night.

Really nice hotel and very kid-friendly! We enjoyed the room, pool, and food. The buffet food was a bit repetitive, but they also have two à la carte restaurants, Mexican and Italian, that you can dine at for free. The food at both restaurants was good! Unfortunately, it was seaweed season, so we didn’t get to enjoy the beach as much as we wanted. There were bench chairs where you could sit, relax, and enjoy the view, though. Overall, we had a nice stay, and I would recommend this place for families with kids!

The resort was in a good location easily accessible to downtown playa del Carmen. However the staff were not very helpful and slow with service. Only two sit down restaurants, Mexican one was good but Italian was not good. The buffet didn’t have a ton of options, omelets were good in the morning but that was it. The room was clean and good. If you want to have drinks beside the pool or beach and don’t care about the food, and want to spend time outside the resort it is good otherwise would not recommend.

Lots of construction on the property plus everything is an extra charge. Very quiet resort not much for night life really. Pool bar closes at 7-7:30. Would be a great resort for families not a party place that’s for sure. But super close to 5th ave where there is action and a 7/11 for cheap drinks and snacks

Rooms were clean, property well maintained, staff friendly and helpful. Buffet was ok. The staff worked hard to keep the beach clean of seaweed, and to ensure guests were taken care of. The only downfall for us was the gym was only opened certain hours. We loved that they offered yoga on the beach!

This was our second time at Coco Reef, and I have to say this go around was somewhat disappointing and we will likely not return. The rooms smelled like mildew and in one area almost looked as if mold was painted over. The food was very disappointing, not much variety and a lot of recycling, which is fine because I hate waste but the quality of the food was poor so reheating made items dried out and even sometimes stale tasting. Alcohol is heavily watered down, even at the VIP bar. Staff was very pleasant and willing to help and accommodate. Overall, we just felt for the price, we could have experienced a better location.

The property is a smaller resort but nice for a short trip. The room was on the smaller side, but had everything needed. The food was mostly good with a variety of options at the buffet. However, the Latin restaurant lacked good service, welcoming atmosphere and food options. The Italian restaurant was better but portions were small. I would suggest having the snack bar waiters come to guests at the pool to take orders instead of requiring guests to sit at the tables. It would also be great to have waiters come take drink orders by the pool rather than using the bar or swim up bar as the only option. Also, in room dining service or delivery would be a welcomed addition. Overall, for a short trip, this resort is sufficient. Nightly entertainment was fun but could be better. The massage at the beach was wonderful. Timeshare staff are a little pushy.

I like almost everything about this place, the staff were unbelievable, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and A/C was working perfectly. The beach and the pool was clean, the service by the beach and pool was excellent and the food and drinks were great. I would recommend to have a lounge bar and music at least Friday and Saturday night. I really enjoyed my time there 🙏❤️

We had an amazing time at Reef Coco Beach! Our room was very clean and the air-conditioning was incredible!! The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. There wasn’t one person we passed that didn’t have a smile in their face! Guillermo at the lobby bar was fantastic! That young man deserves a raise!! Marco at the sports bar was VERY accommodating and an excellent bartender! Boris was so fun and made every day exciting! Alan was a wonderful server and had an excellent personality. They all had a huge part in making our trip so good, they made us feel like family. The beach was beautiful and clean. The food was good. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this resort. We will be back!

The pictures on this site are very deceiving, especially at the beach. The chairs need to be redone. I understand they’re do renovations on the property, but that has nothing to do with the condition of the beach and the facilities. The food in the main dining hall for breakfast was excellent, dinner not so good. The best place to eat was the Japanese restaurant, good food and entertainment. Visited their sister hotel, Playacar Beach which was 1000% better. I would suggest that you look into that property first. I would not recommend this hotel.
